Master Siwon does an amazing job with the kids; he's upbeat, patient, and great at building confidence. Our youngest was very shy at first, but with his encouragement he's now thriving and has already completed his first belt test. The stude are wonderful too and really add to the supportive environment. Beyond learning taekwondo, the program emphasizes respect, responsibility, and personal growth at home and school, which we've genuinely seen reflected in our kids' behavior. The kids love the goals, rewards, and sense of accomplishment, and talk about earning their black belts someday. Not the most you know, coordinated child out there but excited to learn with other kids. In every single class, he is absolutely met where his current ability is. Whether that's an assistant nearby helping him out, or (who I am prettier sure is) the owner has a couple newer kids step aside and he works on basic moves with them that need work. The other kids in the classes are honestly super kind and helpful to kids needing assistance and it's apparent that they are taught to be this way toward other students. My son is usually nervous in new scenarios, with new people, very much anxious/sensitive with critique in what he's attempting, here he learns from people with patience and kindness. (So huge.) But jujitsu is most practical of the martial arts to build self-confidence and truly be able to defend yourself in any real life confrontation. Andre is the owner of this facility and has been instructing kids for years. My only regret I have is that we only finally took the plunge a few months ago. Jujitsu is so not mainstream that I was reluctant for my children to give it a chance despite all the positive things I had heard. Now, My kids love it!
