Jasper Post Office delivery is about as sporadic as a turtle you can get a notification that you should have a delivery date and no package nor mail of any kind. You may not see your mail carrier for days. But if it's UPS or FedEx you have a chance of getting that mail on time. read more

I have been traveling in an RV so I have a PO Box in Jasper, AL. well, I'm closing on a house in 2 weeks and I don't want to renew my PO Box since I will only be using it for 2 more weeks. I called the Jasper Post Office and they said since my house will be in Warrior, I need to call the Warrior, AL and have them forward my mail to my new address and then put a hold on it. I called the Warrior Post Office and they said they can't help me. I need to call Jasper Post Office. I called Jasper back and spoke with Greg and he said HE can't help my either. my mail will be returned to the sender. So apparently, for today at least, Post Offices in Alabama, DON'T WANT TO WORK. If you can avoid this Post Office, I HIGHLY Recommend it. read more

Our home is located on a hill up from my mail box. My packages are being left on the ground beside my mail box. The mail box is on the street and anyone can stop by and steal the packages. This is a recent concern. Always before, the carrier brought my packages to my front porch. I am really upset over this development. If I don't see the package when it is left there, it is susceptible for theft. read more

Well this is a small town post office and it never really gets too busy that they wait is over 5 minutes. The same few employees have worked here for years and know what they are doing. It could use a make over as the building itself is pretty old, but we're talking about Jasper, AL and I doubt they will be seeing much of the federal budget for a remodel anytime soon. read more

I come at least once a week and the staff is so friendly! They keep it very clean and get you in and out relatively quickly as long as it's not lunch time on a Monday or Friday! read more

Walker is named for John Williams Walker (1783-1823), the first US Senator to represent Alabama. The three story, limestone building, which has a white color, faces south. The structure is situated in the heart of Jasper on beautifully landscaped grounds. The entrance is located in the middle of the first story on the south front, which also features a projecting center section with two limestone dividers. The lower east and west wings protrude from the main structure. Three stories are added to the central portion. Vertical windows with dividing panels are present. This building is not the first to serve as courthouse - Walker County had destructive courthouse fires in 1865, 1877, 1886, and 1932. It was restored most recently after a tornado struck the city in 1974. [Review 19866 overall - 213 in Alabama - 839 of 2023.]
