Pumpkin Nights - The haunted house was an added fee and my young boys liked it.

We got some really nice photos at various points on the trail. It's not huge but we're grading on a curve here because outside of haunted houses and trunk-or-treats in church parking lots, there simply aren't a lot of family friendly Halloween-related events and attractions in the DFW area. So we appreciated the fact that this even exists.

This is my third and final year coming to Pumpkin Nights…read more Two years ago, possibly because the event was less known or because there were seemingly more hidden systems in place, we were in the traffic lane for no more than 5 minutes, presented our tickets, and drove down the path to parking. Last year, we were in the traffic lane to get into the event for OVER TWO HOURS. By the time we got in (we had an entrance time set for 8:30 and walked in just before 11), most vendors were sold out or closed. "Get a refund" you might say? Sure, if they allowed such a basic thing. They only allow you to change your ticket within 48 hours of your scheduled time and they'll charge you another $5 to do it, with no partial refunds if your new day is cheaper. The greed is truly unreal. "Maybe because they have to account for parking in their lot" - if by "lot" you mean the open field where you have an employee telling you "follow that car", sure. We purchased VIP this year knowing our schedule was in flux. Here we are getting in line at 8:30. The entrance is less than a mile away and we have a 20+ minute estimated wait. Just kidding, that's just the thru traffic - we have to get into the actual lane that's going to be the same TWO HOUR wait. The lack of moderation for those who enter and stay inside for 3+ hours and the next to pointless traffic navigators, all topped off with the absolute greed to not mark a day as sold out earlier? I'm going home. Keep the $124 - you clearly need it more than I do. Pathetic.

I've been pigging out too much. Stop temping me after this! gym time errrday in May!!!! it's nice that they gather up all around you for once so you wouldnt have to drive around for different trucks. I really wanted Ssahm though! that is my favorite truck ever! they weren't there! sad days....:(. They had some of the trucks thats been around and some new I've never even heard of. I went on a Friday and there was not much to do. No music...just trucks. I can't possibly eat food from all those trucks ok? please find other entertainment! the chairs for the table could be better. They were so flimsy, I thought my badonkadonk butt was going to fall off. How embarrassing would that be? yikes!

Lots of sweet trucks (whatsdascoop, cup cakin', short and sweet) and even more savory ones. There we plenty of tables and chairs, as well as the area inside the Ballpark for seating. All in all I look forward to this annual event to help cancer and get my truck grub on.

Locals peddling thier products they have spent hours crafting with love to others in the community. And the city was so supportive of the vendors- the city employees working the event were constantly making rounds insuring everything was going well and the visitors were having a good time. The Mayor even came around and was shaking everyone's hand and taking selfies with the booth vendors. I see you, Mr. Mayor Jim. They had a ton of food and local bands/ performers as well. My favorite was Poly Hwy- go check them out on FB. They were Polynesian and had a very island-y vibe. It was the perfect chill music to have playing while you stroll around. John Tipton was second- dude if you are reading this- that was the best cover of Bad Leroy Brown ever! And all of this was FREE! Silver Dollar Winery was serving up vino- although I wish they would have had the frozen peachy wine slushie- hint hint for next year guys ;). Crazy Cowboy was smoking up a storm and slinging brisket sandwiches and Rahr beer. La Rosita truck was also there in case you had a hankering for a taco. Bedford is a hidden gem guys, real talk. This would be ok for a date night or something fun to do with kids - but I think the event was over…read morepriced and unorganized overall. I attended the event in Lexington KY at the Kentucky Horse Park. The event was around $30 per ticket and they advertised live music, vendors, and food trucks or you were also welcome to bring your own food and drinks. Parking at this event was also $10 bringing the total minimum cost to $40 for one person or $70 for two people. The pond being used had a divider to keep the lanterns in a specific area - this was very disappointing because it took away from the random pattern of the lanterns floating freely. All the lanterns just ended up in a single line next to the divider. The event itself was very unorganized. There was a tiny stage for live music - which I never saw anyone performing and the speaker situation was set up so you could only hear if you were right next to it. No one around the pond could hear music or announcements or anything. There were only 3-4 vendors set up and around 3 food trucks and 1 sweet truck. There was no place to sit and eat so you had to take your purchase back to your area or stand to eat. I would suggest - just buy a water lantern kit from Amazon and do this yourself. You can get like 20 lanterns for $30.

They have a few food trucks such as the Flying Pig and J Gillian's. My father blessed me with a Grilled Cheese Brisket Sandwich, from the Flying Pig. It was a little on the pricey side, $10. However, the bread was fairly large with lots a butter. Such a a interesting combination I've never heard of. You can bring your own food, drinks and pets. Just keep your dog on a leash and no glass containers. The sound is great! They have screens on the side of the stage for a better view. Also, the camera man zooms in on the stage. The stage is surrounded by beautiful Vitex Agnus trees. The landscaping is well taken care of. The lawn is large with freshly planted grass. There's plenty of space so, bring your blankets and lawn chairs. There's a large sidewalk for dancing. The event is secured too. Police officers are on patrol. Bathrooms are large and clean and the pathway to the restroom is lighted. They also have a hand sanitizing station before you get to the restroom. Balcony seating is also available. Please, see information booth regarding that. If your looking for some free entertainment, I would definitely come here.

Years ago I used to think, "one day when I own my own house, I want it to be in a neighborhood that…read morecomes together at Christmas like Diamond Loch!" Now, I'm not so sure. Don't get me wrong... I LOVE these Christmas lights, the festivity, and the community together-ness. I admire this wonderful and jolly neighborhood! But... these poor home-owners can't event get out of their driveway! I'm exaggerating a bit, of course... but it does get pretty darn crowded here come sun-down in December. For good reason, though. This lights-display is just so fun and happy and Christmassy. It's impossible to look at Christmas lights and feel sad, don't you think? Just go into it knowing that it'll take awhile to get through, and enjoy the ride. Get hot-chocolate, a peppermint mocha, or a hot apple cider on the way. Pack some ziplock baggies full of popcorn and chex-mix and nuts. Hot dogs! Pizza! I don't know, whatever you like to eat. Make an evening-event out of this and take it all in! It could make for a unique date or the perfect festive-family-fun night. Some sections are synced to music, so pay attention to which radio station you need to tune into. Otherwise, blast your own carols! I've seen lots of people walking through the neighborhood instead of driving, which is a good way to take extra time if you want, or to get through faster (depending on your physical agility, of course). Personally, I like to sit in my heated car with my homemade "hot punch," crackers, and cheese while I gaze out the window upon the bright, blissful lights... sigh... MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I recently heard of this place and decided to go check it out. The neighborhood has several…read moreentrances but the main one you can go in is through the north part thru . They do have police directing traffic and blocking the other streets so only residents can enter through those. I went around 8pm on a weekday and there were about 30 cars waiting to go in. I was surprise it only took me about 5-9 minutes to get into the neighborhood. Once inside you just follow the crow and enjoy, a lot of the streets have a could de sac and you can just follow along. The neighborhood is a big circle so when you are done you will exit where you first came out of. It took me about another 10 minutes to get through the first set of house because there were a group of little kids at the end of the first street passing out candy canes. They were the reason why it was taking a while to get into the place but after that I was constantly moving along looking at house. The whole thing did not take me more than 30 minutes and after that I was on my way back home. Its free and the house that are decorated are nice but a lot of them are also dark and don't participate (which is fine). But if I had to choose between this and Interlocken in Arlington, i choose arlington. Thats just my person opinion but either way come on out and enjoy some lights by yourself or with the squad.
