When I first interviewed and met some of my teammates and future supervisor, I thought it was going to be a great place of employment. I was so wrong. It turned out to be completely toxic. As an LGBTQIA+ and neurodiverse individual, I never felt safe and I always felt excluded. They push that they the embrace IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, & Access), but in reality, it is a complete joke! It does not exist! People are disciplined and corrected in inequitable and unfair ways and policies are not applied consistently. My coworkers and managers created a toxic environment for me, made up stories, and created a hostile work environment for me. When I appealed my concerns to upper leadership, nothing was done. There was constant gossip and negativity going around. The child development department has a lot of toxicity and rampant turnover. I have never seen such toxic people. The HR department is also very toxic and they are not on your side. I feel that HR leadership is inexperienced and does not have a clue as to what they are doing. Overall, if you are considering this employer, well DON'T! You will regret it. Run in the opposite direction!

The parking lot was huge and surrounded by tall trees. The shade is great on hot summer days. There is a big play area in the grove of trees behind the community center. You walk through an art-filled garden to get to the door of the community center. Upon entering, there is a bronze statue of books right in front of you. Pretty cool! Off to the left is a kids area where they have Tot Time and story time for kids (there is a small charge to attend). Off to the right is a desk with a receptionist. The dance class is in a large room with mirrors on one of the walls. Our instructor is a local gentleman in his 50's. Such a wonderful teacher. Only 4 couples signed up for the class, but we have a lot of fun despite small numbers. I am anxious to take more classes at the B.C.C.!

They're open 7am-6pm and he knows as much Spanish as English now. And colors! And he "helps" clean up after meals. At less than two years old! There hasn't been turnover either. Just love them. Fauntleroy Children's Center should be more transparent about their waitlist, but happy to have found this word of mouth place.
