US Postal Service - Good store - Post Offices Near Me - Asheville, North Carolina

It's ok. Small post office in Asheville and I almost missed it because it's so nondescript--usually there's white and blue and you can tell it's a post office, but this one blends in to the point it almost made me wonder if there were some sort of zoning rules that required bland, cream colored buildings. When I stopped here there was one guy wearing a mask, and the other was wearing a mask but it was not over his nose one day and the next time I visited it wasn't over his mouth, either. It's in July so everyone has decided the pandemic is over, but if the USPS is still requiring masks, then wear them and wear them correctly--it's been over a year; we know how to do this by now. I wish I hadn't had to stop twice but they had these amazing The Art of Magic stamps that have HOLOGRAM RABBITS BEING PULLED OUT OF A HAT so I had to get more of them since I'd never seen them before! Anyway, it was quick and less painful than the post offices I usually have to use, so that I suppose was nice. read more

I felt really dumb when I couldn't find this post office. In my defense it really blends in with the other buildings. And it's in the back. Nice parking (one way drive though so be careful) and spacious building. Taking COVID precautions seriously. Very kind staff that were helpful and efficient. Looks like it was starting to get busy though (around 9:15). They do have a mailbox outside for after hours and it's quite easy to get to. They were late or early not sure picking up my package the other day but I know that happens from time to time (dropped it off at 4:30 and the pickup says 5 but it didn't get registered until the next day). Terrible... my mother sent up some curtains from Florida it cost $60... very expensive first off. Second I suppose they expect me to sit around my house for weeks waiting for my package.... Which was two weeks late. They left a note saying we missed you...why not leave it on my porch? Now the note says pay $25.70... I tried to call as I work while they're open and can't make it down there and I can't even get a real person on the phone. I will never use them again. read more

Oh man. I asked them to weigh a birthday card - one of the singing ones - they said it just needed three stamps but I put an extra one on just in case. It came back to me a month later with two of the stamps missing, a note that said it didn't have enough postage, and another note that it was too bulky to go through their machine. Idiocy. Complete incompetence. My nine year old daughter could manage this facility better than whoever is in charge currently.. and I say WHOEVER, because whenever I try and speak with the manager on duty, I can't get in touch with them. I had an Etsy order I was shipping out that I SPECIFICALLY told the postman it was labeled as a gift when I received it, so making sure it was delivered in a timely manner was top priority because when running an Etsy business, reviews are EVERYTHING. Well thank you Mr. Postman, for putting the wrong postage on the package, causing it to come back to Asheville, sitting in your post office three days.. and finally letting me know.. I was told it was because of duplicate tracking number.. and that they were going to generate a new tracking number and send it out priority. Three days later, it shows up. AT MY HOUSE. I had to take it back to the office and have the issue resolved.. only for RANDY to tell me that Etsy and myself were the problem. Because I selected dimensions for the box purchased from a USPS packing store. So basically he was telling me I selected the wrong dimensions for the packaging.. only he was the one who helped me measure and send the item and assured me it was good to go. He clearly said he remembered me, remembered helping me tape the box up and get it ready.. yet somehow I was to blame and I had to pay an additional 30 bucks on top of the 18 I already spent. Randy would not get a supervisor because "there wasn't one on duty" and the only reason I could get as to why my package sat on their counter for a week after it went to Florida and back was "we do the best we can." You're best is horrible Randy. Do your job right or get someone who can. Congratulations, this post office is run by complete morons who have no idea how to even ship a box. I'm not even going to go into the fact that my mail lady is too lazy to bring my packages to my door, instead hanging them from my mailbox flag from a grocery bag or tossing them ONTO THE GROUND!! Yep, I've run over many packages because my mail lady won't even drive up my driveway and toss them into my yard. I'm on mailbox flag number 5. I'd get a PO BOX but I'd rather not even have to go into the post office at all.. it literally puts me in the worst mood anymore. Avoid at all costs. UPS great service. FedEx great service. USPS just Terrible. No wonder they are going out of business. I wish I could only use ups and FedEx however when ordering online I usually don't get to choose. I have been trying to contact them for months with no response. I can only get through to the customer service line who then tells me to expect a call in 2-5 days. I have four case numbers and have even called other districts trying to get some kind of answer. Nothing. It's been so frustrating and I don't know what else I can do. I'm am so angry and upset about this terrible service. read more

Watch out, people here steal!! Packages go missing and workers are not helpful.

I use this post office all the time. It is hard to get someone to answer the phone sometimes. You have to let it keep ringing. They are very busy. I always call the Brevard post office and I let it ring and once someone answers they usually have no problem answering my questions. They have made sure my packages got delivered to the post office on 1302 Patton Ave so I can pick my stuff up when I don't want to have it delivered to my house. They always have my packages when I get there. If someone is having such a huge problem they should probably call Brevard Rd and see if they can help you. You can also go online or call the 800 number. It just takes a minute to get thru. Overall they do a good job. The only thing that got under my skin was one of the drivers actually knocked on my door and said I need to move my mailbox so they won't have to keep getting out of the car to put my mail in the box.... Lol. Yeah right lady I'm not moving my mailbox. I told her that was just pure laziness. I didn't build the house. My mailbox is where it is and I'm certainly not going to be moving it. She said I should pay... Lol... To have it moved over by my neighbors mailbox... On their property mind you..... So she wouldn't have to get out of the car. Really funny. Not going to happen crazy lady. Stop being lazy. The post office at 1302 Patton Ave is great though. The Brevard Rd post office does answer phone calls. Make sure you get the correct number for them from your local post office though. read more
