I spent over $7 for priority mail and it took a week to get there. It would have been faster if I put a stamp on it and it went regular mail. when I talked to the supervisor about the delay, the attitude was that they had no idea why it took so long. read more

Despite politics in Washington resulting in post office understaffing, the people that work at the Red Lodge Post Office do an amazing job of handling the ton of mail and packages that come in, and are always willing to help with meeting your needs. read more

I used to never have a problem when I had my P.O. Box. Now i live on the other end of town and they deliver. So now all my amazon packages are being mailed USPS Instead of UPS. Now the mailman refuses to bring my packages to the door if they don't fit in our little boxes. I live in apartment building. Taking care of my daughter with brain damage. I can't get to the grocery store most of the time. And this man can't walk 50 ft to my door. Sad! read more

Absolutely terrible. Yes it is the holiday season and yes they are busy but I also work in customer service and actually attempt to help people and be nice. Needed to ship some Christmas presents home to my parents, and had to disclose that there were lithium batteries in the package, two small unopened AirTags. Was then requested to know the exact kilowatt hours of each individual battery which obviously I did not know. I was attempting to Google the answer while at the counter but wasn't coming up with anything so I asked to just have the package back so the rest of the line could be helped, and I would just purchase my postcard stamps. I had to ask three times to just purchase the postcard stamps because the woman kept trying to use Siri to look up the kilowatt hours or try different things on her computer. I finally purchased the postcard stamps and went to leave and she was still holding onto my package which I again had to ask for. I go back to my car, find the kilowatt hours which is less than one, and go back in. I had to wait in a massive line again because there was a mass amount of people here waiting to pick up packages, five of which the post office could not locate their packages even though they had slips for them in their PO Box. I finally get back up there and tell them that each AirTag is .6 kWh, and then I am told that I cannot ship lithium batteries in a USPS box. I am told that I need to unpack the box and put everything else in a different box in order to ship it. At this point I've been at the post office for over 45 minutes and waited in line twice. Unsure why this wasn't brought to my attention the first time when I very clearly was trying to ship the AirTags. Having given up on getting my parents their package in time for Christmas, I attempted to talk with them about a package that was shipped via USPS through Amazon, to my house which does not receive USPS mail. I had shipped with Amazon because in my experience they always ship with FedEx or UPS which does deliver to my house. The Amazon app told me to contact USPS in order to find the package and that it failed for delivery. I thought I would ask to see if it was at the post office since USPS tried to deliver it. I don't think the woman understood my question and kept asking if I sent it for general delivery and I said no I sent it to my house under my name she then was asking for my PO Box, which I do not have one, and told me to contact the carrier. I reiterated that USPS was the carrier, and that is why I was asking. She got pretty snippy with me and refused to look for the package and so I walked away very angry and I'm now crying in my car at how absolutely frustrating of an experience that was simply to locate a package and send some Christmas presents. I understand that lithium batteries do need to be labeled but the fact that I waited in line multiple times to be told specific information about packaging in kilowatt hours later on was very frustrating in addition to the absolute lack of respect or empathy or knowledge that these three different women had. I will literally be driving to Roberts in order to mail this package in order to not deal with the Red Lodge post office again. Happy holidays. read more

I've been in twice this week, and both times the clerk had a pretty bad/grumpy attitude. And this time, he refused to send four envelopes filled with bubblewrap as small packages (I needed tracking on them), even though literally every other post office I've sent these same types of packages at hasn't even batted an eyelash at it. I've been doing this for years. Nobody else has ever told me "I can't help you." You had one job. Terrible experience. I'll guess I'll just mail these from Billings tomorrow. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ read more

This might be the worst post office in the state of Montana. They have a constant attitude of "not my problem." I once got chewed out for going to the counter 4 minutes before their lunch break because they have a break at 12:30 and "people should know that!" We were done by 12:28. Another time, someone had shipped me a package, it made it part way across the country and got stuck in another city. The employee refused to help me in any way and kept saying the sender's fault, despite being able to see it was hung up in their system. They close at 4:30, before most people get off work, they take an hour lunch and completely shut the whole place down from 12:30-1:00, rather than taking lunch in shifts, making it nearly impossible to get your packages without taking time off work. And when they screw up they have a habit of trying to make you feel like it's your fault. Terrible, but they don't care because what are you going to do about it? At a time when USPS is struggling to stay afloat, you'd think they would be bending over backwards to help people. Instead, these folks treat you like dirt and have an attitude of "not my problem." read more

I rarely write reviews but it was such an upsetting experience I feel like I should share. Virgilyn Sticka, who goes by the name Susie, a postal clerk, was so rude there really aren't words to describe how horrible she treated us. First, she held up a line of 6 customers to buy her personal "flower stamps". She cut in line ahead of the first customer and made the clerk get her the right stamps because he didn't get her "the flower ones" she initially wanted. That male clerk was joking with her and they took their sweet time as customers piled up. At one point, Susie even made a comment about how she should NOT make him get the flowered stamps because of all the customers are waiting. We finally reached the male clerk. We had made appts online and received confirmations that we were set to get our passports. I am an organized person and triple checked my packets before we arrived to make sure it would be as easy as possible. As instructed, we arrived 10 min early. When I let the male clerk know we had appts for passports his disgust was evident. He sighed, rolled his eyes, and walked into the back. Out comes Susie (the clerk that had held up the line and made us all cringe because she was so snotty to the other clerk while he got her the flower stamps she wanted.) This is our first time getting passports. We asked her if the birth certificates would be returned and she went off on us about the US Dept of State requirements. My husband finally spoke up because she was being just awful, talking to us like we were ignorant, uncooperative people. He politely told her there was no need to speak to us that way and said a yes or no answer would suffice. We were dumbfounded at how horrible we were treated. They were absolutely disgusted with our request for passports. It was as if we were asking for a special favor. It's a service they provide and we paid over $300 total for that service, we weren't asking for any special requests. It's truly sad how these clerks treat people. read more
