You can't miss it from the parking area of the Heart of Route 66 Museum. The cylinder-topped pump is an skyscraping replica of the type commonly in use when Route 66 became a national highway in 1926. The pump was originally designed to include a spiral staircase and observation deck, which had to be scrapped as too complicated for the mostly volunteer crew that built it. It's small, but I can always find something good to read…read more The location is convenient to anyone who drives through Jenks proper - it's pretty much in the middle of town and is open six days a week. (On Sundays the regional libraries are open.) There are decently sized sections for non-fiction, fiction, and children's books. I'm also often pleasantly surprised at how many people are using the computers, chairs, etc. One of the best features of the entire library system is that you can find a book online and have it delivered to the library of your choice. I'll often search the catalog online and request a book be reserved for me for pick-up at the Jenks location. A few days later I'll drop by the library and it's on the reserved shelf for me! Finally, the prices can't be beat. A library card is $0. Each rental is $0 and you can borrow multiple books at once. Admission is $0. The restrooms and water fountains are $0. The library is a great value! I highly recommend the Jenks library!
