Jennifer is amazing, friendly, funny, and great with communication. I wanted to take the time to write a quick review after my visit from California to Florence, Oregon, this summer. I love beading and enjoy checking out the local bead shops. She had great quality beads at affordable prices. She, also, had local artist sell their jewelry there and I picked up a gorgeous set of beaded earrings. I am in contact with her now from California regarding some gorgeous sleeping beauty beads. Side note: There is another shop in town that has crystals, beads, and jewelry. From my experience, the locals may shop at US Bead Warehouse and the other shop is on strip mainly visited by tourists. But, I found my way to Jennifer's and I was a tourist. Who knows? Just pointing out that I saw more locals at Jennifer's who she knew by name and a ton of tourists at the other spot. read more

This bead store has a lot of things. There is fairly large selection of gemstone beads, which all seemed to be a little bit over priced for me. There were some on sale that was buy one get one free, but they it was only for chunky/huge beads which already came on strands that had more than enough of them. I can understand the want to get them moving out of the store, but honestly I wouldn't have wanted a second strand to go with the first just because of the type of beads they were. The front of the store is dominated on one side by metal findings and wire, a lot of which are fine silver (99% pure) at what I thought were reasonable prices. Immediately next to the silver is the gold things; but I can't say if they were at good prices because I didn't look. There didn't seem to be much, if any, antiquated metals, although I could have missed them in all the silver. If you're looking for metals, specifically silver or gold findings, this is the place. The other half of the front had gemstone beads, most all of which are over priced. A lot of them also had price tags so faded that you couldn't read them; probably due to the fact that no one ever buys them because they cost so much. Maybe a section with single beads or half strands is in order. Honestly, if you're looking for gemstones, I would turn to the internet instead. There was a small selection of cabs, mostly smaller sizes, and not really anything to write home about. The front counter contained cabochons on one side, and then a pretty large selection of finished jewelry on the front. A lot of it was Australian opal, and somehow it just seemed a little out of place especially the large quantity of it. It was nice, but just kind of out of place. Not what I'd expect in a beading store. The owner/shopkeeper seemed nice enough but when we walked in the counter was deserted, and the whole time I was there it felt like I was disrupting something that she would have rather been doing, even though her greeting was nice enough and we made small talk while we checked out. Maybe it was just me, but I'm not entirely sure There was an eclectic selection of jewelry making books before you entered the second half of the store. I say eclectic because I noticed that there were quite a few that were pretty dated, and still being sold for their original price. Books that you could now get for almost pennies anywhere else. There were some newer books too though, so if you're interested in making things other than your grandmother's designs there's still hope. The selection of seed beads was pretty decent, but nothing too mind blowing. The wall that held all of the czech type beads had kind of crappy lighting (idk if there was a light out or something) so I didn't look there long and can't vouch for the quality of that portion of beads. The seed beads were mainly Tohos and Miyuki with a handful of colors and finishes. I was happy to see several shapes of beads; Tilas, drops, and magatamas were all there albeit in limited varieties. They also had hanks of beads but that was also a part of the store that I didn't look too closely at. The beads in tubes were all fairly priced and I was happy with what I bought, even if the selection of colors/finishes was a bit smaller than I'm used to. The selection of stringing materials was pretty large. I wasn't there to buy any cord, but there seemed to be a good representation of anything you might need. I saw loads of leather strips, but I don't remember what else there was except that it was one side of a row and there seemed to be a large assortment. There was a small tool selection that seemed to be reasonably priced, and was what I would expect in a brick and mortar store. The beading foundation though was painfully overpriced and not at all competitively or reasonably priced. One thing that bothered me about this store is how expensive some things were compared to how much you can get them for else where. Also the gemstone beads all in full strands doesn't give you any option than to buy the whole thing even if you only need a few beads. I don't want to have a strand of over priced beads that I'll only use a few out of and then not have anything to do with the rest. Another thing was that I visited the second bead shop and found one of the same things that I had already bought for a dollar cheaper. If that doesn't scream mark up to you, that I don't know what will. In short, if you're looking for silver findings/wire/components, you've come to the right place. The tools will serve you too. Cording is there as well. Seed beads are fairly well represented too. If you're planning to buy gemstones you'd better bring your piggy bank cause you'll be cracking it open and selling your first born along with the Bessy the cow. Hopefully you come back with something better than magic beans. read more

I love this bead store!! It has everything a beader could need! In reading the reviews, I decided to stop at both bead shops in town. This is by far my favorite ever! All items are reasonably priced and the pure silver over copper findings are amazing!! The sales staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. This was my first time in this bead store in Florence. Was greeted and helped by the very nice lady at the counter. She was also very knowledgeable. I spent a lot of time in the store just looking at all there inventory. By the time I was finished and had more than I wanted, the gal checked me out and gave me some great suggestions on working with my purchases. They had a whole wall of beautiful beads for only $5. a strand. I purchased some amazing labradorite strands of different shapes. A whole counter of $5. Cabochons. I purchase several gorgeous labradorite cabs. One rose glowing faceted stone. They had so many seed beads that I asked for help in choosing the right ones to go with my cabochons. Found the perfect ones. They have a complete wall of 999 silver over copper findings and one wall of sterling and a very good selection of copper findings which I purchased. I'm very excited about my purchases and now that Ive been in the store and have seen the quality of their product I will continue purchasing from their website online. read more
