The Dodds Law Firm - The Dodds Law Firm Team

    The Dodds Law Firm

If I could rate a zero, I would. I have waited to post this review since I needed the last of my…read morefinancial paperwork to be completed. I interviewed Mr. Dodds about my divorce and he was compassionate, sympathetic and "a Christian" and would help me deal with my divorce where I had been financially abused for decades. Turns out, had I researched deeper, I would find this is his way of signing clients, only to turn them over to incompetent "jr lawyers". I was handed over to William Welch and the drain of my money began... nearly $30K in attorney costs and billing that didn't match what I was getting. I repeatedly had to call and question charges. Welch was beyond incompetent, telling me things wouldn't rule in my favor "because the judge just doesn't like him." The problem was the judge was holding him accountable for doing his job. I got handed nearly the highest alimony rate allowed, was told I could petition for marital waste ... it was just lie after lie. I believe he was in cahoots with my husband's attorney, who was equally as incompetent. The bills came left and right and zero progression on my case. Stalling ... and more stalling. Then magically Welch leaves the firm. No notice, no nothing. My case handed to TJ Coons who told me it wasn't his fault he got brought into the case late. Mr. Dodds no where in sight. I received a letter shortly after signing up with him that he was "retiring" and because of his health issues, he could no longer represent clients. But it appears he continues to take in clients. Had I read the reviews that I ended up reading later, I would have seen this bait and switch he has pulled on several clients. Interesting, when I started complaining, all of a sudden all these 5 star reviews started appearing about the firm. In the office, they openly solicit reviews ... I would challenge that many must be fake. There's too many that happened all at one time. I ended up firing the firm, went pro se - and magically got my divorce completed on my own within 30 days. I wasted so much money with this firm. It was a complete disgrace they are allowed to prey on people the way they do - Mr. Dodds saw a broken woman with a failed marriage of 34 years and saw I had some money and proceeded to take as much of it as he could. William Welch - buyer beware. He left the firm, but I hope this review comes up with people google for him ... he was in over his head from day 1 and worthless. I had to read the law to him on more than one occasion. A waste of time and energy. Lies and false expectations is the name of this firm. Again, buyers beware. Not that I trust any attorney, but I would never in a million years recommend this firm to anyone unless you have money to just give away.

Please avoid the firm at all costs. They took me for almost 5k for a bankruptcy, told me I couldn't…read morefile chapter 7, had to file chapter 13. Ended up quitting my case. I paid another attorney and had a chapter 7 discharge in six months. You're better off filing for yourself than using this firm.
