I want to recognize Narb at Urquid Linen for his gracious communication with me throughout the course of my work with them. We got married in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and I was looking for special linens for our bridal table. Urquid Linen has awesome crush velvet table linens that I preferred to purchase rather than rent linens that weren't what I wanted from a local place in town. The cost was roughly the same, plus I was able to keep the linen. I ordered the linens four months in advance of my wedding and unfortunately, because the velvet linens are so similar and I had a phone call conversation to clarify some things, we ended up with a taupe velvet linen that was not what I expected. Narb and I communicated via email and phone to return the linens free of shipping charge (they were heavy!) and they sent me new samples and the correct linen. My only wish was that I used velvet linens from Urquid Linen for ALL of the tables at our wedding. This company is a nightmare. I ordered linens and was expecting to get them within the shipping timeframe given. Three weeks later, I hadn't received any tracking info or updates, so I emailed...3 emails and I finally got a response. I was told some of the linens I purchased were no longer available and if I wanted to receive the rest of the items anyway. I said yes. Then I get another email saying that the items I purchased were no longer being manufactured because "their clientele wants quality." Meaning what I ordered was not of good quality. I'm still baffled as to why it took me contacting them to find out I'm not getting the items I've paid nearly $300 for. Luckily I still have time to purchase elsewhere before my event. Still going back and forth with them and still haven't received word about my refund. Also, the linens they say they no longer carry are still up and available to purchase on the website. RUN far and fast away from this company. They are shady. I was VERY nervous ordering five table cloths sight unseen but was ultimately swayed by (1) the level of customer service and (2) the price! I was extremely impressed by the responsiveness of the Urquid Linen's customer service and sales departments via their online chat system AND by phone. I was also impressed with their effort to assist in getting my order to me on time... I had an incredibly tight deadline and the delivery window was tight but I was assured there would be no problems and their weren't. In terms of price, I paid less than HALF what I would have paid to rent lesser quality table cloths in NYC (roughly $22 per table cloth to BUY thru Urquid vs. a $45 + tax quote to RENT). This place was a total nightmare. The girl Liz who first answered my call after calling to return my order because my linen was received with multiple snags and dirt marks was the rudest person I had ever dealt with. I was expecting to receive brand new drapes for an anniversary party and received what looked to me like rental linen. I ended up keeping the drapes because I was being told I would be charged a restocking fee plus my shipping charges and I had already been charged $45 for shipping to recieve 5 drapes in a small fedex box that probably only cost $20 to ship. No shipping charges would not be refunded. I will NEVER consider giving this place my business again. I did however give this review one star because the guy Art who called me back did have good customer service but at that point I just didn't want to deal with the headache anymore. My response, was they really need to quit showing a sample on their website that is not accurate. The gentleman agreed to take them back with a 15% restocking fee. I recently used Urquid linen's services for a corporate event we had for a movie production company out in burbank. We have used many other companies in the past but never have we seen the service and product pricing as we saw with this company. They were amazing to work with, were patient as we had a few last minute changes due to some budgeting, and they shipped our items and had everything ready for us in time. In the movie studio business, there's always last minute changes and budgeting issues and so many other obstacles that may come up and we are happy to know we finally found a vendor who is aware of all that and cooperates with us to make everything happen for us to have the perfect event.
