"We brought our six-pound Chihuahua in and were seen almost immediately. After a thorough assessment, the veterinarian determined he required specialized emergency care. They coordinated our transfer to an emergency hospital and incredibly did not charge us for the initial evaluation. The staff was professional and highly competent. I cannot recommend this practice enough for anyone in need of urgent pet care." read more

My almost 12-year-old, 105 lb newfypoo suddenly couldn't bear weight on his left front leg, at the wrist joint, with visible swelling. We arrived at UrgentVet around 10:30pm and didn't leave until nearly 11:30. Much of that time we were left alone in a treatment room- they'd stepped away for another emergency- sitting on a cold, filthy floor with fleas hopping nearby, while I tried to console my boy in obvious pain and fear. As a senior myself, I could not get him into a car alone- it took two male neighbors and a bedsheet used as a sling to carry him down the steps and lift him in. I told Zach when I called upfront that I had limited funds and asked specifically for an x-ray of the affected joint. He assured me I should bring him in. Once we were there, Zach-who I understand is not the vet but runs the practice and dictated the course of care-refused to do a targeted x-ray and would only proceed with a full diagnostic workup. The actual vet said very little; Zach made the calls, including telling me about methadone and "quality of life" as if he were the one treating my dog. He was also the one who told me my dog had a fever on top of the hot, swollen, clearly painful limb. When I mentioned he's had a severe adverse reaction to carprofen for pain in the past, he said there was no alternative- yet there is: Galliprant, among others. They simply didn't have it in stock and apparently weren't willing to write a prescription for it. We were sent home with nothing, despite Zach himself confirming the fever and the hot, swollen limb. Yet he insisted on an ultrasound of my dog's belly, convinced he'd find fluid- he didn't- it's just his build, a big ribcage with lost muscle mass from age and weight loss- and the ultrasound found nothing but a full bladder, which I'd already told him would be the case since my dog hadn't been able to relieve himself for 16 hours. When we left, Zach wanted him to walk all the way across the parking lot to a patch of grass to try to pee, despite being barely able to stand. I had parked as close to the front door as I could specifically so he wouldn't have far to go, and he needed a lift belt for support for the few steps he could manage on 3 legs. No one on staff expressed any regret about turning us away. It took 2 more days and 3 nights-and enormous difficulty, with worsening symptoms before he was seen elsewhere. I was never able to get him back in the car, and no x-ray was ever done. An excellent, knowledgeable home-visit vet determined he needed antibiotics; it looks like a bone infection, though without an x-ray no one can say for certain it isn't something worse. He's slowly recovering, but the delayed treatment caused unnecessary suffering and added real risk of sepsis. From my experience this practice made clear that money was the priority, not the suffering animal in front of them. Do not gamble with your pet's well being here. When it matters most, they were not there for us-I don't want anyone else to find that out the hard way. Shame on you, Zach and "UrgentVet." read more

Money hungry! This place is all about money and cares very little about pets. Stay away from this place if you can help it.

My dog was non weight bearing on a front limb and I brought her here after calling in. I always call upfront because my dog is extremely vet anxious and will snap to bite if uncomfortable. She doesn't do this with our primary vet as they take the time to sit with her on the floor and don't flood her, while also stopping when she is too overwhelmed. The goal was to get pain and de-inflammatory meds while considering x rays. I bring her in sedated on 200mg of trazadone, they see her hobble in on 3 legs and after explaining again that she doesn't do well being handled unless she's gotten time to meet the stranger and needs extra sedation and I want x rays done efficiently, dr oley (I think his name is) comes in with 0 regard to introduce himself, ask how I prefer my dog be handled, tries examining my dog while she is cornered near the chair. I kindly redirect and explain if he tries to grab her leg from behind she will snap. My dog is trembling fyi on the meds and is wearing a muzzle I use for vet time. We move into open space, he again reaches for her while towering over her.. I'm just sensing 0 dog handling skills. I get it, you have a medical phd but if you're working on animals you better know how to handle the anxious ones. When she went to snap (MUZZLE IS ON) he freaks out and jumps back saying her meds aren't enough. I could hear him and the tech talking in the back and he was disgruntled when I didn't wanna continue with the sedative shot that the tech couldn't explain what was in it without reading directly, and when I asked if we can confirm it'll knock her out, she said hopefully. Nope. 0 compassion from the vet on staff and I was very disappointed because I am already stressed about my dog and I have never had to advocate so much for her like this but I'm glad I did and left. Also- I know it's an ER vet. But I spent $230- $160ish on the exam he didn't complete because he never once touched my dog and 2. The rest was pain meds so that's fine! I will be going back to my primary vet because if they can't complete a service they don't charge me. I know how these things go but seriously they need some handling classes when it comes to a dog that isn't a freaking happy go lucky Labrador or something. read more

I called and made a emergency appointment with Urgent Vet. They were AMAZING! They were very helpful and they knew exactly what to do! The price to be seen is reasonable! I called 10 other places they either didn't pick up or they were $300+ JUST to be seen! Urgent vet is only $169. My cat just got her right hind leg amputated and i was worried about the blood, they cleaned her up AND even showed me and my family how to do it at home! They were gentle with her but they also showed us so we didn't have to come back. They didn't charge us for cleaning her up and overall they were AMAZING! 100% recommend this place. read more

Bill was $300 total, for visit ($125) and 3 meds. This is give or take around what our family vet charges but definitely less than ER vets. We got the peace of mind of going on Saturday evening for our cat's welfare as opposed to waiting until Monday on an infection that we just discovered. We also didn't have to take time off work to rush over to our vet per their availability, nor sit in weekday traffic. Staff was friendly from answering phones to vet care itself. Felt they cared about our pet's welfare and answered all our questions. Quick exam, antibiotic injection, pain injection, and separate med via oral syringe, simple and no more hassle. A+++ read more

My dog had broke leg that they misdiagnosed and sent him home without any real treatment. We found out later at another vet who identified the problem and performed surgery. This could all be avoided at the first place if they did the right way. Very sad our dog had to go through this not to mention the very expensive bill. read more

I urgently needed to bring my young cat in to see a vet because she had an injury on her face that looked very serious. My regular vet couldn't see us right away and they recommended urgent vet. I was able to go online and save my spot. It was very easy and when I arrived, I was able to very easily check in with a kiosk where there were even refreshments waiting! A Vet tech greeted me right away and took me back to the exam room immediately. I was also greeted by the vet very quickly. They went through all of their plan before proceeding with everything so that I thoroughly understood what was going to happen and how much it would cost. Luckily my cat was OK and she's doing great now, and I have no doubt that it's in part because of the good work of the kind staff at urgent vet. I'm eternally grateful for their patience, experience, and care They gave my little girl. They also called me to check on her the next day!! I would strongly recommend using this resource if you need vet care urgently!! read more

Staff was calm, caring, and courteous when I took my dog in for urinary issues. The facility was clean and I was well-informed throughout the visit. My dog required sedation for X-Rays and they let me stay well past the anticipated recovery time to make sure he was comfortable. They forwarded the information to my regular vet. read more
