They suggested to go to walk-in urgent care. Tuesday 8/4/26 @9am came here and told them about my possible poison ivy episode with a 2-week outdoor project I was involved in out of town. I was bitten by chiggers, ant, mosquitos, you name it. Red spots started turning more serious. The initial nurse told me it didn't really look like poison ivy so I was curious now what could it be. After a 1hr wait (could have been longer) Elisabeth Pagan, NP came in and I told her again what I had been involved in. She was def sure it was staph infection. Whats that?? prescribed me: triamcinolone and sulfamethoxazole along with zyrtec and pepcid to reduce histamine response. By Friday 8/7/26 no sign of change and some areas got worse. Decided to walk myself into ER on morning of 8/8/26. THANK YOU- CNP, Boelens for your consultation. I could tell she really didnt want to be rude about my urgent care experience but as I was asking questions she was like "that med should have not been prescribed to you," and she also asked, "did she give you a shot"? :/ I said no. Left with a steroid shot and new presc. I felt a weight off my shoulders and peace. I will also be writing a personal note to Elisabeth Pagan for her lack of care and attention with my visit.

I called the VA to make sure this was a place within community care because I was having flu like symptoms, a fever for 3 days straight, couldn't even keep food down and they told me I couldn't be seen until I paid a 150$ co pay. As a veteran with full coverage through the VA, this was extremely disappointing and I felt very dismissed. Through the VA I shouldn't have to pay a dime. Literally made me wait in the waiting room for over an hour to "contact my VA health benefits rep" and kept calling it tricare health insurance. It's not tricare fyi and it's not health insurance. Don't say you work with veterans in the community if this is what happens whenever a veteran comes in to get seen. hope this helps

My wounds were basically rinsed off with a bottle of sterile water. No antiseptic or anti bacterial products were used and I left with blood dried between my fingers. My hand wound was glued shut as is and I was prescribed a pain killer. After 2+ hours, I was released only after a reluctant nurse wound some gauze around my leg burn and didn't use the tape she had to secure it but tucked it in the top of the dressing. Definitely not professional. I believe this service level could be due to my Medicare Insurance status... Overall experience was pretty poor. Was there 4/17 for chest pain and was told I would have a test ordered. Never heard back and ended up at the hospital for the same chest pains. Called to follow up about it, as the hospital recommended, and instead got told they were still waiting on a prior authorization. Still? She then asked about a bill on the account, which I inquired about as there was a new charge on there just for being seen when I already paid my copay at the appointment, and she said must be my deductible and hung up when I didn't have it. I've also worked in medical billing and that's not quite how it works unless they somehow didn't check my deductible, which is doubtful after that. And a prior authorization does not take that long. Called my insurance and they said there was a note stating they were told no prior authorization was required on 9/8. They waited that long to try?! And still lied? Desk lady is always sweet in person but had no problem being condescending on the phone. Unfortunately will have to find a new PCP. He is very knowledgeable and would only recommend as a last resort.

Seriously there were many time I thought I should go eat there JUST for the food. Sadly when I was there for 3 weeks in Dec 2016 the food was NOT the yumminess I remember. The sandwich bar is still good!! I especially love the pretzel bun! And they're made to order using quality ingredients. Not skimpy either - nicely done on the balance of ingredients! However the entree and sides that in the past tasted small batch homemade and nutritious (aka not fried) have become industrial, prepackaged glop and mostly fried and/or dried out. The best line was someone's comment that the roast turkey was so dried out it looked like "toast"!! Ha ha ha! Highlight - 2nd floor coffee shop!! A real espresso machine and ab fab smoothies! They also have tasty sweet treats and usually at lunch a soup (which may or may not match the cafeteria)! Speaking of coffee - some floors have free and accessible coffee, tea, ice, etc but some don't - I encourage you to walk around or ask! I had a baby December 2024, and they kept submitting the claim incorrect for his portion of the…read morebill. It's been literally back and forth every few months where I'll call, they say they're working on it, and then I'll call back a few months later and nothing happens. Last I spoke to them (Feb 2026), they said they thought they found the issue and would submit the claim again. Today I just got a collection letter for $12,000 from a law firm, and it's for over $4,000 more than the original statement. I call the hospital, and they tell me after 30 minutes on the call, "Oh, you were supposed to backdate his insurance 30 days!" But it's too late, and there's nothing I can do as insurance won't process a claim 2 years later. I'm in tears, and the supervisor was just extremely rude telling me how it's my fault for not being on top of it myself. And that they've repeatedly tried to contact me about it, which isn't true. I've returned every call from the hospital if I knew it was from them.
