My absolute FAVOURITE item I bought here was a little black bolero jacket with gold epoillets, and was devastated when it was stolen on a night out (never ever leave your jacket unattended in the VIP section of Cloudland - even it only cost $20, people will assume its expensive and swipe it anyway). After crying myself to sleep for weeks, I phoned the store to see if they had any more. They didn't - but lovely owner man ordered more in and called me to let me know he'd put one aside for me. I was over the moon and couldn't believe he'd gone out of his way just for a $20 jacket. Side Street also have gorgeous clothes for guys - Man Friend was the joyful recipient of a stunning white v neck tee with neon Vegas skyline print, which I'd spied on Side Street's Facebook page and popped in to purchase. This place sells London Rebel shoes - quite nice styles and surprisingly affordable - as well as relevant fashion styles and some really standout jewellery pieces and accessories. They also occasionally sell some Sass & Bide. I was drawn in by the really distinctive skirts and dresses. You pretty much have your pick of styles here; if you need festival fashions, just ask to see their playsuits and shorts; if you want a cute weekend outfit, take your pick of the patterned dresses. Or go more casual and choose a cami with one of their remarkable jewellery pieces. Side Street is another great stop on a Paddington shopping day.

I really like the vintage-inspired fashions here, with some really cool and comfortable just above the knee 'walkers shorts' on offer (funky patterns and colours like paisley and sky blue) as well as unique t-shirt prints. The prices are a bit high for me though, with t-shirts and shorts starting at the $60 mark and heading too close to the triple digits for my liking. I recently visited during a post-Christmas sale and was disappointed to find that none of the men's stuff was discounted (gender discrimination at its worst I'm sure you'll agree ;). As I really like their styles I hunted out the cheapest item on the rack, a slightly low cut singlet with a pocket (I don't know what I'd keep in it but it is 'cute') for about $30. After I tried it on the slightly over zealous sales clerk asked "How did you go?" -- a question I dislike. Sometimes I'm tempted to quip: "The objectives were completed. I successfully donned the selected garment/s and assessed their suitability for my personage..." But that would make ME the bigger douche, so I just said "It was a bit too big." Once she'd become distracted by a local who engaged her in a chat I took leave of the shop. The verdict -- I like your styles Side Street, but your prices make me pursue other avenues.

The store has a slight air of being unfinished, not quite sure why, however the staff are friendly and helpful and I have found some beautiful clothes here that I can see myself wearing over and over again.

The staff are very patient, efficient and helpful. It's one of the few places I go to get sales advice. Since their clothes are from all over the world, save a little brain space for size conversion. There are signs to help, but it can still take a while. Leave up to an hour to explore this store if you're a girl. Women get a half the store, and Men and Kids get the other.

The brand is Rock Your Baby - an Australian brand of funky, edgy baby clothes. My sister is due in about 5 months time, so I just went nuts over all the baby clothes and barely looked at the women's clothes. But I did notice some MinkPink and Tigerlily. And a range of killer shoes and heels! But then I was distracted again by the baby Vans, and the Yo Gabba Gabba baby shoes!!!!

Did anyone else make the connection between Petrol in Paddington and Fuel in Bulimba? All gas…read morerelated? No? Ok, well I thought it was pretty interesting. Anyway. The salesgirl at Fuel is the devil! Ok, maybe that's a little harsh; especially since she was really very friendly and quite helpful. But honestly, she's the devil because she made me purchase this pair of AMAZING heels that make you look like a supermodel. Ok, so maybe she was actually really great and helped me make an awesome purchase. They have quite a nice little range of clothes including Mink Pink, some really funky shoes including floral flats (which my friend bought), and a really excellent range of heels. Did I already say how amazing the heels were? The do have a great range of shoes though; everything from girly flats to skater shoes to summer sandals to chunky heels. It's really quite a funky store and a must-stop for any fashion enthusiast moseying along Oxford Street.

Their clothes are not quite my style, however, there are still plenty of great outfits in here. They cater towards a market of women who are perhaps professionals or mature-aged, as you won't find slinky mini dresses in here. The outfits have a lot of colour and suit all body shapes. You will find plenty of easy-to-wear wrap dresses and most of them supporting Australian designers. It's a lovely boutique and worth a visit if you are shopping for your mother, aunty or grandmother. I'm sure you'll find something suitable for them here.
