Had a lovely time with a big group of friends at the Urbana outdoor patio. It was a chilly evening but the staff promptly placed heaters around us and we were never cold or uncomfortable. The food wasn't anything out of this world, but the service was so accommodating and fast, that I can let go of the fact that the filling in my tacos was greedy. Their cocktails and side dishes were great tho! I truly recommend the elote dip.

Tonight for the first time I had a taco Al Pastor. It was so so good!! Tender and flavorful! And the Caesar salad is really good. Nice portion size I also had my regular drink I get every time: The non alcoholic tamarind chamoy. So good! We love sitting outside and enjoying the weather. Eric and Tito and Jose and Frances and Ella and Michael and Daniel and Brian always make us feel so welcome and at home! This is our favorite restaurant in Del Mar! We come weekly

Another great meal at Urbana. Enjoyed a couple of fish tacos and a El Gobernador taco. Love the fish tacos here and usually get one of those and one of their beef or pork tacos. Haven't had any bad ones yet. Started with some chips and guacamole. Not the best guacamole I've had, but still very good. As far as the service, we had a great server, Tito. He was on it all night and provided great service. I also saw that you can now order while seated at Understory. I believe this is new as I thought you used to have to order as takeout before. I could be wrong, but we'll try this next time.

We've been loyal customers for many years. Unfortunately, the 4% service fee disclosure is difficult to see and easy to miss at the bottom of the menu. When combined with recent menu price increases, this has led us to choose another restaurant in Del Mar.

The Ambiance of this Eatery is very fun, the atmosphere is not too loud , and the service was friendly. Based off of the server suggestion I ordered the filet taco and the lobster taco. $10 for one street Taco is rather pricey, but the flavor on the filet Taco was very good. The lobster taco definitely needed more meat! The reason for three stars is because, despite being only one of two tables in the restaurant, they forgot to bring out our appetizer. They insisted that they could still bring it out despite the kitchen having closed , but I would say it was definitely worth the wait. We had the Ahi Ceviche stack and it was a very tasty. Once again, rather small, but definitely had amazing fresh flavor! The proximity to other restaurants and shopping does make it worth another visit. If you are in the area, I would definitely say stop in for a fresh resca and some ceviche.

Located in the sky deck, I was skeptical that this was going to be overpriced mediocre "Mexican" food. I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. I ordered the spicy margarita (which was pretty strong) and three tacos (Baja, steak and al pastor). The tortillas are handmade and very fresh. The flavors were very good as well. My husband ordered mole enchiladas and said they were a lot better than the ones at south of Nick's. We sat outside with our 1 year old so he could look at the trees. The service was fast (perfect for us who try and get in and out these days)

A quick drink here while we wait for our reservation to Understory Bar just feet away and I went with a classic... - Old Fashioned | A little sweet and bitter with a hint of citrus for fun. My friend got a shot of Reposado and the price made me fall off my bar stool, $50?! Damn. I took a $3 sip; it came through smooth with notes of smokiness. Excellent, but again, damn... Location is on the second floor Sky Deck at Del Mar Highlands (food hall). There's a surface lot in front and parking is free, but you gotta hunt it down. You can also park in a parking structure (behind all the shops) off of Townsgate Drive. I'd come back to try out their food next time, and maybe like a half shot of Reposado.

This was probably one of the least tasty tacos I've ever had the sad opportunity to splurge time and $$$ wastefully on. Honestly, I knew what I was walking into, ordering from a "fancy" place for tacos when there's plenty of delicious hole in the wall shops down the street. Sky Deck is romantic, but the food here is a mood killer. And yes you didn't read the prices wrong. $18 for 3 tiny tacos - al pastor & carnitas $20 for 2 cardboard not tacos- tostadas are not tacos and I wouldn't have ordered these if I knew they were tostadas. Come for the vibes, leave for food elsewhere.

Wagyu beef taco was supposed to have beef but didn't

I ordered the wagyu beef tacos but when I opened the box and looked inside there was no beef

The burger comes with garlic aioli, and I asked for extra on the side for my fries. I finished the burger and almost all the fries, which says a lot. The burger was flavorful and satisfying without being overly heavy, and the fries were crispy and paired well with the extra aioli. My husband got the classic burger, which comes with their version of a 1000 island style dressing, and he liked it. He also ordered a beer that paired well with the burger. My sister-in-law had the ahi tostadas and tuna ceviche and enjoyed both. The flavors leaned fresh and bright, especially the ceviche, which balanced nicely with the heavier items. The space itself is a highlight. There's a lot of natural light coming in through large windows, and the decor is very aesthetic and thoughtfully designed. It feels bright and inviting without being too loud. It's better suited for smaller groups rather than large parties. Service was great. Our server was very kind and attentive. At one point they accidentally dropped a couple of my husband's fries and immediately brought out a full fresh basket to replace them, which was a nice recovery and honestly a win. With three sodas, one beer, all the food, and a 20% tip, the total came out to $144. Not all food and drinks are pictured (missed my husband's burger and beer, and my sister-in-law's tostadas). Overall, good food, solid portions, thoughtful service, and a well-designed space. A strong option if you're in the area.

Craft House is located in San Diego's Del Mar Highlands Town Center. It's a food hall with multiple restaurants and breweries. This spot serves up handcrafted burgers, seafood, and delicious cocktails. It's a hybrid between American fare and Mexican food. My wife ordered the fish & chips with parmasean garlic truffle fries, and I ordered the Oaxacan braised short rib. To cap off the evening I ordered the Dead Man's Old Fashioned (an absolute must). Overall, the food was exquisite! Ingredients and flavors were on point. The braised short rib was juicy and tender (just the way I like it). Service was great too! And the atmosphere was warm, inviting, and aesthetically appealing. But the real highlight of my experience was the Dead Man's Old Fashioned- it was smooth with a hint of smokiness from the cherry wood. And the cocktail smoke encasement was a nice touch!

The ambiance at the bar was relaxed, with a warm, social energy that made it feel like a great after work spot. It had a casual but polished vibe, and you could tell it is a popular time for people to unwind and catch up over drinks and small plates. The space felt inviting overall, although seating choice does matter depending on the time of day. We ordered the HH $10 Sicilian meatballs, the $12 cacio e pepe arancini, and the $10 chicken pesto garlic knot sliders. My personal standouts were definitely the arancini and the meatballs. Both had great flavor and texture, and I would happily reorder them again. Service was decent, especially considering we were sitting at the bar. One small note is that I would recommend sitting facing the back if possible, as the sun came in pretty directly and made it a bit bright and uncomfortable at times. Overall, it was a solid happy hour experience with a nice atmosphere, good value, and a few standout dishes I would come back for.

I ordered a nut free salad - one where nuts weren't even listed in the ingredients. Noted my nut allergy put an abundance of caution to the waitress who said she would tell kitchen. The plate came out with a mention of nut free. I started to eat it and glanced at one point at the opposite side I was eating from and found a pine nut. My allergy is severe and im glad I didnt have a reaction. But what made it worse was the lack of care by the GM. I Informed my waitress who was very apologetic and informed me she would have her manager come by. The man that came over was so casual - he said, with no greeting: can I get you another meal? I declined because I was not very skeptical of eating here. And expected at least an apology. But he said: are you sure? Well OK. And then walked off. That was it. No recognition of what happened. No offering to comp the meal. The receipt did come with a comped meal but im still in disbelief at the lack of care by the manager. I will not trust this restaurant again. They also messed up several orders. No salmon on the salmon avocado toast. The wrong meal. We were all over it. I won't be back.

Among the many new restaurants in Solana Beach, Lana was one of the most enjoyable. If there's a negative it's that it's a bit expensive and it adds up. Our meal cost $200 including tip.
