When I started my index was around 15. I'm now in the 7 range. Lots of improvement and much more fun on the course. He's easy to work with and provides great insights that I can work on in practice sessions. Far better than just hitting balls blindly with no real plan. Of course improvement will only happen if you put in the time, but the practice will be much more impactful if you are actually working on something constructive. I very much recommend Shane as a golf coach/instructor.

Took my lesson with Sam on Tuesday and played round with friend on Thursday. Was nervous because I didn't have time to practice at range before and was going to try his advice on course....OMG, off first tee, hit solid contact straight on fairway. Not every shot and hole was perfect that day - bad habits are hard to change but I was making just better contact and had more confidence. I read a few reviews of poorly kept fairways and greens but they must not have gone recently. The greens are the best I've seen. Which is bad, since now I can't blame my missed puts on the greens. I've played Rancho, Los Feliz, Alondra, Terrenea, Arroyo, Arcadia, Scholl, VN and a few others and Westdrift is ranked 1 in my book. The course layout and maintenance are fantastic. Staff are super cool, there wasn't any back up of play to complain about and parking is easy and free.

We ordered some tacos along with the pita and hummus. Quite honestly, for a place where you're golfing and constantly touching golf clubs, there seemed to be a lot of finger foods on the menu. The food was cool, nothing special, but still enjoyable enough for the experience. The whole setup was really smooth and the staff made everything easy. I've actually never played golf or swung a golf club before, but it ended up being really fun and easy to pick up. The atmosphere inside was great and the overall ambience made it a fun place to hang out. My only small critique would be the pricing. I understand why it's expensive given the experience and the venue, but it could probably be slightly cheaper. Overall though, I had a great time and would definitely come back again.
