Located on Church Hill road in the Northfield area of Birmingham, Urban Combat Centre provides the local area with all their martial arts and fitness needs. A wide range of services are available, from kickboxing to grappling, and from one on one tuition to general fitness classes (or, as the storefront sign declares, 'fitnss'), as well as serving a less conventional form of urban combat with dance classes (nothing says intimidation like a well executed pirouette). The few occasions that I've visited have been entirely positive, with helpful, friendly staff, and the one on one session is worth doing if you're considering getting into some form of martial arts but don't want to commit to a number of lessons without trying them out first. A fun, invigorating alternative to gyms such as the relatively nearby LA Fitness. read more
