Many of the exhibits have been donated by local fishermen who have caught the fish in their nets. A very interesting place to visit for young and old. Good parking nearby. My only complaint is that it is fairly expensive to get in but you can spend quite a long time looking around.

I did the London Eye and Sealife on the same day, as they are geographically close to each other. - If you like penguins, sharks, stingrays, and jellyfish, this aquarium is for you. I got a city pass and had a handful of tourist attractions to visit while in London. I did the London Eye and Sealife together in this order. I highly recommend coupling them for a day. The former give you a nice view of the city. The latter is a cool aquarium that I enjoyed visiting. I love penguins. I enjoyed seeing the gentoo penguins swim and waddle around. I probably spent a good chunk of my time here. I also liked the shark exhibit. Seeing sharks swim around a shipwreck was neat. The jellyfish exhibit was also amazing. It's the UK's largest jellyfish experience. I enjoyed watching them float around. Oh, the seahorses were fun. I saw the suck up shrimps with their snouts, which was different. I normally see them swimming around. I spent a lot of time at the gift shop. I ended up getting a keychain and a small penguin plushie. This aquarium is probably one of the best ones that I've been to. Staff were friendly and helpful. I loved everything that I saw. (21)

They also have some of the local marine life too, being that Southend is a coastal town, which really does touch home for me. Although not containing much of the magic as when I went here when I was young, I do still admire the place, as they always make sure it's clean and tidy, and that the animals are well kept, looked after, and maintained. The staff have some knowledge about the marine life kept, but there are place cards by the aquariums to tell you more. The aquarium also contains a fairly decent sized restaurant/eating area, but charging for a play area for the younger kids so you can look round the aquarium, or eat in peace is a bit of a low-blow, considering you've already paid to get in and possibly for on-site parking too. Saying that, it's definatly a great family time out, and the kids will love getting up-close to the animals, (sometimes being able to touch them too, but best ask for permission first).

And that really is taking it slow. The inside was damn and condensation was everywhere. There was a talk on the Star Fish which left a lot to be desired, it was over exagerated and a lot of contradictions were made by the man. On the up hand for kids it has a play den but compared to other aquariums this was over full and not in good condition.

The admission price is such a good deal! Standard price at the door is £10.75 (around $13) and if you buy your tickets online it's only £8.60 ( around $11) For kids (Aged 3-12) (Must be accompanied by an adult) £8.25 (around $10) at the door and £6.60 (around $8) online. The aquarium itself is not very large but when we went it was not crowded at all. This place is definitely a hidden gem! There are so many sea life exhibits to see such as seahorses, sharks, jellyfish, and even reptiles like frogs, chameleons, a python and even a bearded dragon! There is a cool underwater tunnel where you can see reef sharks, stingrays, and colorful fish swimming over and all around. The staff there were also so helpful and friendly! The aquarium is open everyday except Christmas Day from 10 am to 5 pm. There is also parking located right in front of the aquarium where you can pay for parking. I definitely recommend coming to this aquarium. It was so much fun walking around exploring and enjoy my day! 5/5 stars very impressed!

We queued for 90 minutes for two different car parks so we were late arriving. There were massive queues to get in but that was just the appetiser! Once inside the overcrowding was insane. I would say we were herded in like cattle but there are probably stricter rules for how many cattle you can cram into and enclosed space. Seemingly no such rules for humans in Nausicaa! There were so many people that you couldn't really move or see anything. A maze of dark corridors, stiflingly hot, airless and claustrophobic. Massive queues for food and toilets. I felt sorry for anyone with pushchairs or wheelchairs as it is not suitable eg queues of 30 people with buggy's for the few lifts. People were having to eat their lunch on the floor. You can't get near a lot of the exhibits due to overcrowding. No customers looked happy and mostly people just looked stressed. In the end, after 40 minutes we decided to leave but it took us another 20 minutes to find our way out through the dark maze of poorly signed corridors. It was a huge relief to get outside which says a lot about the place. We would never return and my advice would be to spend your money elsewhere. if you have a wheelchair or buggy don't go here. I lost count of how many poor parents I saw having to carry buggies up and down stairs. Not only was our visit unpleasant and expensive I also feel the overcrowding is unsafe. I hate to think what would happen if there was an emergency. NEVER AGAIN! No doubt they will churn out the usual response of come at 9.30am or 4pm. They need to do something to reduce or control the number of people in the building before someone gets hurt.
