I was helped with insurance questions and was able to pick a pair that fit my budget and didn't feel like I was being pushed to get something outside of my price-range. To begin, we did not have our original insurance card with us at time of eye exam, but I called in with the information a day later. I assumed a claim was made and everything was paid, but 3 months later we received a bill for the full amount of the eye exam stating we were 90 days late and we had a week to pay or it would be sent to collections. Concerned, I called Dr. Thoman's office and re-iterated the insurance information to a staff member. I was assured they had everything they needed. Unfortunately a month later we received another bill threatening to go to collections. Our insurance had not been billed yet again. So, I called back and spoke to "Jordann" I asked why the insurance had not been billed and she said we gave them the wrong information. Which, this would be the THIRD time I've given the information, I suggested maybe it was written down wrong. Jordann told me that if I had just brought in the card at time of service then this wouldn't have happened. Well, Ok. I spent a good amount of time on-hold while she did what, I don't know. When she got back online she told me she found the insurance information and that we owed $45 out of pocket and I could pay today. I asked her to send me an invoice so I can verify they actually sent in a claim and can she verify to me she has the right info. At this point Jordann said, and all in one word, "WEDONTNEEDANYTHINGELSENEXTTIMEBRINGINTHECARD!" and then hung up on me. Needless to say I've tried calling back numerous times to verify that they do have the right info this time but I've received nothing but voice mail. I'm so disappointed in the way his staff handles his patients. It's such a shame because they have good doctors here.
