They had a competitive quote, but more importantly, they did an excellent job and were very easy to work with. Joey, the owner, was on site every time his crew was out, often doing some of the work himself. He treated my project as if he were pouring a slab for his own property. He communicated when he would be there to work and showed up on time every day. He addressed all of my concerns that came up during the process and the pour. He clearly has been in this business for a long time and knows what he is doing. Joey's son works with him and is also very competent and good to work with. They both take pride in their work and the end results show it. I will definitely be using JRT for any future concrete work and would highly recommend them.

It's taken a while to write this review. Mainly because I wanted to get it right. We called Old…read moreSouth for an estimate and talked a bit with Rick. He came out the next day after our call to look at the job and not only did he listen, he asked questions and took a video of the project. A few days later he got back to us with his estimate, we were pleasantly surprised. We agreed and paid our deposit. We had family coming in for a few weeks and needed to push the job out and again, no problem. Justin and his crew showed up on a Wednesday mornig and wasted no time in getting it under way. They encountered a problem with a drain we had another contractor install. We discussed a resolution and everyone jumped in. This was approximately 4:00 in the afternoon and I'm sure his crew was looking forward to calling it a day. Everyone done their part with no complaining or griping. (They worked until 9:30 that night to get it ready for morning). Justin mentioned that our pour was scheduled for 6 AM. At 5:30 the next morning trucks and crews were beginning to arrive. I was little taken back that they did exactly what Justin said they would. To say these guys showed up and showed out would be an understatement! I've never seen a crew work together the way they did. They finished the pour and began finishing the concrete. When it was done, they left a beautiful job behind. The entire time any of the crew was around, I never once heard a complaint from them. They came back the following day to cut relief cuts in the concrete and clean up a little. When the were done, all that was left was a well executed job. Absolutely no mess to be dealt with. So, if you're looking for a company that does what they say they will, you won't be disappointed in Old South Concrete.

They went above and beyond and I highly recommend them. They restored faith in the industry after having been burned by a previous contractor who took our large deposit and only did a small amount of work before abandoning the job. Hindsight is 20/20, but I wish we would have chosen Ramirez from the beginning.

Ultimately, the crack was not a major issue, and Matt gave us great advice on how to fix it ourselves- down to recommending specific products. While he was here, we asked if he would be able to give us a quote for a new, larger concrete patio slab. He switched gears, and worked through all the specifics of what we were wanting and provided a great quote. We are very happy with our concrete slab- there is a smooth finish, no staining or cracking, and Matt personally came back afterwards to fill in a small hole that had been left in the ground by the concrete crews. I really appreciated that Matt did not try to sell us an unnecessary fix for the cracks we initially brought him out for, and am pleased with the concrete slab work that he and his team did for us. He was also very communicative, and checked in with us to confirm final details before setting them in stone (or concrete lol) Also shoutout to Matt for recommending a great screened-in-porch installer (Noble Space Outdoor Living) & coordinating dimensions and details with them. Our screened in porch would not exist without his recommendation and connections.

Back several years ago I hired Reeves Irrigation to install my watering system. Soon after they…read morefinished, significant water leaks began occurring at many of the main water line pipe joints. The first leak I found was literally blowing water up out of the ground. When I dug out the dirt out around the PVC, I realized the leak was not a busted pipe, but was spraying out at the junction of 2 of the 20' long pipe sections. After getting the materials to repair the leak I began by cutting the joint out with a hacksaw. When I got one side cut, and was getting ready to cut the other end of the pipe, the flared end of the 1" dia. Irrigation pipe just pulled off and there was no evidence of any glue in the joint. I had Mr. Reeves come out to look at what's going on and also showed him the glue-less joint and he said that it looked to him like it had been glued correctly and that he could not and would not be able to help me. I have now repaired leaks at the joints in three locations and the water meter shows that there are still more leaks that I need to locate and fix. I am very upset with the quality of the work done by Mr. Reeves and would not recommend him for irrigation system installation.
