The audiologists are competent and know how to test and listen to what your needs are so they can recommend the best hearing instrument for you. Terrible customer service and extremely poor people skills. The office manager, Bryce just told me she is cancelling my hearing aids and Upstate will no longer provide me with service because she arbitrarily decided I was being disrespectful on the phone by my tone of voice. I have been waiting for over a month for hearing aids that were supposedly ordered a month ago by Scott, an HIS rep and was told they would be in, in a month and I would have to come back for the final fitting. I want to post a review for Pam Dalton who works in the lab and the receptionist Jessica Kingsley who both work at Upstate Hearing. I feel they both went above and beyond to help me when I first got my hearing aids.I only had my hearing aids a short time when my dog got a hold of one and chewed it up. When I found it I thought it was a lost cause, I was very upset, especially since I still owed quite a bit of money for it, and I went to the office and both of these people put me at ease. Pam was able to send the damaged one off and it was repaired and sent back free of charge. I feel they are both assets to the company. read more

I just recently purchased my second set of instruments from Upstate. Stacey, one of the audiologists, has helped me both times and has always been eager to make sure everything was working well along the way. The audiologists here are hearing aid users themselves and have truly understood my needs. I have probably worked with everyone on the staff at some time in the past few years, either with repairs or service (I am pretty hard on these things) and they all have the same "can do" attitude about helping me get the most out of my investment in the instruments. Bought a pair of digital hearing aids five years ago here. They hook up to each other for better hearing, that is each one is set different depending on the need for the ear, like glasses will often have different Rx for each eye, these were set for each ear. Brought them in as the right one would not respond with the button for adjusting up or down, and also had ability to change program, that is in a noisy or crowded room as compared to a one on one without all the background noise. When I left the right one they set up a loaner for the left ear, however although it was the same make and model they said it would not work with mine and therefore took my left aid and put it in a container and gave me two loaner ones which worked some what. When my right aid was back from the factory they brought a pair out to me and when I inserted them told them they did not seem right! So they took me back and played with them on their machine for that and they worked when set by the machine, however when I attempted to do it the normal way there was no response on the left one! They told me that many times when they get old that happens, but that I could adjust them with my blue tooth streamer, which was partially true it will adjust up or down however when first inserting and turning on first thing they do not sync together and now after a few months still no better. One might wonder why I just don't go back, well when I was there they came out with two cases and wanted to know which one was mine! Neither one was as I never left my case there it was at home. That got me thinking if they did not know which case they put my right aid in, maybe I did not hand me back the one that is mine. The girl said she would take it back and check and came back and stated it definitely was mine! Well first off after five years there are worn places on mine from my glasses and these did not have these! Then the girl stated that the serial number is inside and told me where to look with a magnifier, where she claimed the number was. As soon as I was home took a magnifier and looked and there was not even a serial number in the left ear! Don't know what she looked at? They were pressuring hard to purchase new aids and stated they were not really worth sending to the factory. Up until this the service was always real good, it was however quite clear once it was realized there was no sale coming up, I was basically done. read more

My experience with Upstate Hearing was the finest quality customer service I have had in the last 50 years. It began on a quest with me to get hearing aides. Stacey the audiologist was incredibly knowledgable and experienced and caring with some very difficult issues I faced in getting fitted for a hearing aide. Stacey's customer service was exemplary and the strategy and follow up service by Ken was so helpful. Their back up service was great as well. To accomodate some difficulties in wearing a hearing aide, Upstate Hearing at no charge worked with me for 6 months letting me trial and demo 3 or 4 different hearing aides until we finally found the one that worked for me. Now it is so delightful that I can have full restored hearing in critical times hearing things that for years have been missed. It was a great and rewarding experience and I would highly recommend this company for their excellence, their patience, and their over the top customer care to anyone looking for a support with their hearing aides. read more
