The place claims to be over 18 but has a rather lackslure ID policy, which means if you're looking for your 15 year old daughter, she will probably be in there on a Friday night, alcopop in hand. Once you get past the area where you pay, you have a choice of two doors. On the right will be an entrance into what used to be the 'metal' room (Manor used to be an 'alternative' club), which now has tables and chairs and one bar. If you sit there, expect drunk people to bump into them. The men's toilets are also here. On your left will be the entrance into the main room, which has a cloakroom and the girls' toilets. There are two bars in this room and a couple of podiums. I would recommend avoiding it because I felt old being in there at 20 and never knew there were so many kids in the area.

If you can manage to get this hall, it's a great size for a relatively small gathering - no more than 100 people. They allow you to use the kitchens and the bar is at club prices. They have a special area for the DJ or band, but beware the sound limiting because of neighbourhood proximity. Because of its size, it is a great venue for the smaller function. I've been here for several occasions, both personal and of a Freemason nature (and no, we're not in it) and on every occasion it has been great. Book early to avoid disappointment, but don't try for 18th or 21st birthdays - they just won't do them due to past experience!
