We had such a good experience working with Upma. From the very first conversation to delivering the finished photos, Upma was so professional, helpful, thoughtful, and warm. I especially appreciated that she went out of her way to find an accessible location, as I have special needs due to a medical condition. Upma was incredibly understanding and not judgmental in the slightest, and she worked with me to make sure that I felt comfortable. Upma is an amazing photographer. That is clear not just in the beautiful photos she took of our family, but in how she made us all feel during the shoot. She put us all right at ease, including our toddler, who took to her immediately because of her warmth and energy. We all had a wonderful time, and it was all because of Upma's upbeat, positive attitude and her genuine passion for creating beautiful memories for people. Upma was a joy to work with and the incredible photographs she delivered perfectly captured the love and joy and beautiful chaos of life with a 1-year old. The whole experience was everything we hoped for. We cannot recommend her highly enough, and can't wait to work with her again! read more

I decided to deviate from my usual family photographer and tried Upma. It was a pleasure working with her and I would love to support a woman owned small business going forward. However, to make her pricing slightly more competitive - she should consider giving all the pictures she takes instead of just the edited ones for the price of the package. My usual family photographer does that and I think most others in the Bay Area do so as well. Upma has recently moved here and is building out her business and in all, it was nice trying out someone new! read more

Typically the only requirement one would look for in a newborn photographer would be cute/unique photos of their tiny humans. But what Upma gave us beyond excellent photos was a thoroughly positive experience and a cherised memory for life. My wife and I were a little late in our search for newborn photographer and thats when we stumbled on Upma and I am glad we did! We had our photo session when our baby was a little over two weeks old. Upma accommodated us at the last minute and also had a detailed call with us going over how she envisioned the photo session and asking about our style and preferences. She also insisted on including my wife's parents in the session (at no additional cost) . The session was about 4 hours long and she handled our baby with patience and warmth even when she got fussy. She had a varied collection of costumes and sets to choose from. We had a great time at the session and that reflects in the wonderful photos we got from it. Highly recommend her. read more
