This contractor robbed me blind. He never finished the work and just left and will not return…read morecalls. The floor tiles are popping when you walk across floor. He gave me incorrect measurements for a custom made wood core screen door which was not able to be returned. My washer and dryer were not level when he put back in place. He never adjusted the feet properly. He said he would correct all of this but will not answer phone now for months. Never finished the staircase but asked for money early because of Xmas. I can go on and on. He took months to do the work and never finished. His work subpar in some cases. Perhaps in all but I just haven't found out yet. He constantly tells you how good his work is. He fishes for compliments all the time. Comes off as such a good guy because he constantly tells you how perfect he is. My husband and I are disabled, on a fixed income and struggling. We had to take a $20,000 loan out to pay him and he just took the money and figurtively punched us in the gut and disappeared.

I was extremely patient with Rick, but eventually it got to the point where he could not afford to repair his work truck, and then could not afford the gas money to come to my house. As a consolation, Rick offered to paint my basement at no additional charge. He then went back on his word, didn't paint the basement, and chose to walk away from the rest of the work. Rick's delays, empty promises, and unprofessional business practices cost me countless hours of wasted time and delayed my project by over 6 months. I would only trust Rick with simple masonry jobs without urgency, and I would never leave a deposit with him.

Marcelis Contracting (Francis Marcelis) is a scammer. He scammed me out of $15,000.00 on a…read morecontracting job, never doing the work promised. After three months of trying to get him to do the job he was put on notice by my attorney that if he did not show up the following week and complete the job, the contract would be terminated. He immediately agreed to show up every day starting Monday, but never did. He has refused to refund my money and a lawsuit has been initiated. I ultimately completed a background check to find that he has multiple criminal charges and convictions as well as multiple unpaid judgements. I implore you do your research if you are even considering hiring this scammer. Learn from my mistakes and do a full background check first. I have documentation to back up every single word in this review as well as documentation from my attorney backing up everything.

They came out the very next day after initial contact to estimate job at hand which was a minor roof repair. Fran got back to me that evening with estimate and was out the very next day to complete the roof repair. While I had them at the house, they also completed two electrical jobs replacing light fixtures inside and outside. They also tightened up a loose banister that was ready to fall out of the wall. No job was too small and his prices were reasonable. Most of all they were fast, neat and knowledgeable. I highly recommend Marcelis Contracting for any job large or small inside or outside your home. I will definitely have them back at my home.
