You just pay per month and you're not on the hook for anything beyond that. It's open 24/7, which allows people to come and go at any time and thus never gets too busy at any one particular time. They also have just about every type of machine/free weights you can think of and plenty of treadmills for cardio. On top of that the owner, Frank, is extremely personable and accommodating and is almost always around during the day if you need anything. Additionally, trainers tend to pressure clients to keep exercising, even when clients have known health issues. It seems the focus is primarily on selling coaching, and they often continue charging you even after your membership has expired.

Some of the reasons why I like it is that there's barely anybody there. It's not some pansy club like planet fitness where you get yelled at for dropping a weight or not justifying someone's feelings of self-worth. They do have flat benches incline benches a Smith machine treadmills bikes and Nautilus style equipment. I really haven't seen any more than six to eight people in the gym at any entire time and there's barely anyone there so that's why I like it. It costs about double of what planet fitness cost so it's about $10 a week but I go 20 times a month so it works out for me. There's easy parking. They have two restrooms with showers and then a third restroom. They're supposed to have trainers and group classes there but there really is only one trainer and no group classes. The equipment is worn down some of it's been broken for a long time like the stair stepper which they only have one and a treadmill. It's a pretty frequent occurrence that they run out of toilet paper. I have learned that they fired their cleaning crew so there's literally nobody cleaning the place. The previous manager said they did not have access to the dumpster anymore cuz they stopped paying the bill so they had to take the trash home with them to throw it out. Weird. There's literally nobody there to sign up new members nobody there to complain to nobody there to talk to about the clubs status so I went to corporate. This club is owned by a franchisee who has bought about 250 other anytime fitness clubs and probably destroyed them as well. They are managing this club directly into the ground until we got a hold of the corporate and now finally as of this week things are starting to get cleaned repaired and new equipment is on order. The one personal trainer that remains there is absolutely a sweetheart and for those of us who do go to the club almost every day we do love it. They have lame music in there that sucks and I wish we could change the station but they said that we cant. Overall two stars because there's nobody there which I like but the club is junk and expensive. The franchise owner better get off their ass and start fixing it

My trainer is hands-down the best Trainer I've ever had (and I've seen a lot of trainers over the years). The equipment here is awesome and the staff is beyond friendly & always make me feel welcome . I actually live much closer to another Fitworks but I prefer to drive out to this one because I like it a lot better. Even the lighting is nicer & the ladies locker room has so much more room for showering /getting ready. Also the WiFi has been replaced /fixed & I now never have any problems with it. The Only reason I give it four stars is because I too wish it were open later on the weekends, as my work schedule varies with days & hours, but Mon-thurs 24 hrs is pretty sweet .

She then looked to the other customer standing next to me looking for support or something ... do your job & I wont make it known that you dont know how to do yours. Planet fitness in Mentor advertises personal training classes on their app for my club services,…read morebut doesn't actually have classes at their location. False advertising! This has been going for last few years when you ask them when the trainer will be available at Mentor location. Staff response- "There could be a potential trainer eventually, but not at the moment " There was no classes advertised until recently, which led me to believe that there is a trainer at Mentor location currently. Planet fitness advertises classes nonstop but only a select few have them. Get a membership at Mentor but drive 20-30 minutes out and then you have to explain yourself why you want to use a different location. Drive 20-30 minutes to get a 30 minute class- that is absurd! They've done absolutely nothing to resolve this issue in years! But they for sure have raised their prices. Even when they did have one, he wasn't even certified, he was just one of the staff members. If personal training is being advertised across the US, then make sure you have one at each location! I give it Zero stars!
