The wait wasn't long at all! Cool laid back environment where as a mom of boys I didn't feel overwhelmed by the normal male conversation! The barber did a great job and asked my son exactly what he wanted and he gave it to him! I like that! I'm nervous when he goes to someone new because he hair texture he has to have a barber that is use to cutting different textures of hair and not make him like like a wet chicken! Lol I will be back if I ever need his hair cut when we in this area! You have to go around the blocks and park in the back...you can enter through the back door and walk through the hall to the left...there's a sign hanging! Enter and have a seat! You will be happy you did! I'm so impressed and my son looks like a Classic Man!

I used to come here to get my hair cut when I had a pixie hairstyle. Most of the time I would get…read morethe same two hairstylists that did my hair. They were excellent! There was one time I had a stylists that never cut my hair before. I figured she was new because I've never seen her there before. My hair came out...ehh! I felt like I could've done a better job myself. Now that I'm letting my hair grow out, I just take my 10 year old son to get his haircut here. My older son in college also comes here to get his haircut. PROS: * Both of my sons end up with a fresh looking fade and taper look. * Consistent with awesome results, great haircuts from majority of the stylists. * I like the concept of a barber shop with female barbers. It's trendy and adds a contemporary ambiance to a traditional barber shop. * Having a barber shop near my house is a time saver. * Location is convenient. Shop is located near Hanover Square Shopping Center where I can do my shopping/errands without wasting a lot on gas. CONS: In my experience the staff could be friendlier. Majority of the clients are male of course being that it is a barber shop. When male customers walk in, the greetings from the staff is friendlier as opposed to when I walk in. The greeting I get sound pretentious. Sometimes, I don't even get a greeting at all. I never ask for a specific hairstylist because most of them have great skills. But some days, it appears a couple of them purposely take their time with a customer in order to avoid certain walk-in customers. My son always get a haircut and shampoo afterwards. I make sure to write this down on the sign-in clipboard. A few months ago a stylist with long light blond hair cut my son's hair. After she cut his hair, she asked how old he is and my son replied, "I'm 9 years old." She told us that he didn't need a shampoo. What???? This was never an issue before. What a bizarre remark! This may seem trivial, but the music playlist at this shop seemed to accommodate the stylists' rather than the customers in general. By this I mean they should play different genres to provide for the customers. Give everyone a chance to listen to different types of music. The shop is constantly busy on the weekends. Which is actually a good thing because that means they do a good job at cutting hair. However, the waiting is extensively LOOOONG. They accept walk-ins. But you can also call ahead of time. That's why if you're a walk-in, expect to sit there for awhile. Make sure you bring a book to keep from getting bored to death. Overall, I do go back to this barber shop because it's very hard to find a good barber where I live. Mostly, I give a nice gratuity. If the stylist gave my son a great haircut, I will give 25%. If the whole visit was great for my son and myself, I give 35%. Would I recommend this place to my family and friends? Yes. I've recommended this shop to a few friends and family with citing the cons mentioned above.

I have visited all three shops. All three have amazing customer service and great barbers. Before the creation of Fadez and Bladez I knew the owner at a previous barbershop. Chelsea has built a great business and continues to find ways to give back to the community as well. This review from here is concerning the Glen Allen location only. The store is very clean and they are constantly cleaning after each client. Today I had Chelsea the owner cut my hair, she is phenomenal! I always try to get mine cut by Chelsea however I have had multiple different people cut mine and I can say I have never had a bad experience. The service is always very professional yet very friendly and always engaging in conversation. They love to know where their clients work which always helps them remember their clients and to have general conversations. To quote the cheers sound track "sometimes you want to go where everybody knows your name and they're always glad you came!" Despite having three shops there is still a small town family feel to Fadez and Bladez. They love law enforcement, firefighters and military members even offering discounted prices for all first responders. They can use balding shears for those shaved experiences or if you prefer they use straight razors. They are not just a barber shop for men but they do women's cuts as well. After your cut you can even get your hair shampooed with a hot steam towel for your face. If you haven't gotten a haircut at Fadez and Bladez you're missing out.

Or ensure that you communicate your needs clearly, as their default is a style from 5-10 years ago, cut too high and cutting the sides into the top of the hair, not slightly out. Overall, I'd give them a chance for simpler styles, but I'd hesitate to recommend it for a quality polished cut for the price. Here's hoping they can refine their technique in the future, especially: Even Length: The hair should gradually decrease in length from the top down to the nape of the neck, with no noticeable lines or harsh transitions. Blending: The fade/taper should blend effortlessly, creating a natural look. There shouldn't be any patches or uneven areas. Cheers.
