Carrying your phone around like a little bambino? Never have to search around your handbag for it cos it's always in your hand? How about this - can you identify what type of email / tweet / message that's coming through without even looking at it by knowing the different vibrations? Mmm hmm. Unplug is a weekend that gives you the tools to get that mobile baby into electronic day care. With some ultra-relaxo opportunities along the way, and some top notch food thrown in. Result. I don't want to spoil the surprises of what's in store for you over the weekend. But let me give you some insight: - Firstly, Dunderry Park is the most stunning place. Rolling fields, magical forests, a calming lake, fairy forts, coupled with an aged beauty of an interior - old Georgian architecture and homely cosy decor. There's a roaring fire too. It's sublime. - You will learn different types of meditation and yoga and brain re-wiring and lots of other cool stuff. It's up to you how you want to dip in and out of sessions which gives the flow of the weekend a very relaxed pace, and you the opportunity to explore the surroundings, which you absolutely must do. - All the food is vegetarian and really delicious. Again it's got a homely feel to it - casually served, and makes you feel like you're eating with family - There are loads of other surprises. You need to go to experience them. I won't spoil them. (Ok, there was a bonfire and marshmallows on the second night. Sorry. I couldn't keep it to myself...) Did I turn my phone on within the hour after leaving... yes. Did I then put it down once I'd gone through all my watsapps, messenger, texts and notifications... yes. Did I not look at it for the next few hours? I did not! Success? Sure! I'm always gonna be addicted to my phone on some level, it's just too much of a life line. And those watsapps are #totes #hilar. Don't wanna miss them. But, I have cut down. That airplane mode is getting a good going over these days, so hey that's better than nothing right! I'd recommend this weekend to anyone wanting a nice chill time with some lovely people, tasty food, all whilst learning new skillz in a beauuutiful setting. read more

Specialties
Unplug is a sustainable digital detox helping you develop a better relationship with your tech. We offer retreats, workshops and consultancy taking the best practices from the east and mashing them up with some science and fun to work in the west.
History
Established in 2015.
Unplug was founded by Chris Flack and William Meara in 2015 after seeing a need for a sustainable digital detox programme.
Meet the Business Owner: Chris F.
Chris is a social entrepreneur, based in Dublin, Ireland and is known as the Suited Yogi. He spent 15 years working in corporate sales and understands the complex stresses of modern working life. In 2012 he moved to India to work with NGOs and study meditation and yoga. Having attended meditation and yoga retreats around the world and worked with some of the leading teachers in India Chris recognised that despite it's benefits Eastern philosophy doesn't translate easily to modern western society. As someone who has experienced huge benefits from meditation his mission is to make it more accessible to everyone through fun sustainable programmes. Chris has been teaching yoga and meditation since 2012, and returned from India in mid 2014 to Ireland where he works as a Fundraiser for Multiple Sclerosis Ireland, blogs (including Elephant Journal), runs the pre-work music festival Morning Gloryville with William and is planning on revolutionising meditation to meet today's needs.
