I LOVE this church. Truly!…read more I've been attending LifePoint Homestead for the past several years, off and on. Back then, I was coming in from out of town and just visiting with family. Over the past several months, since moving back to the 305, this has become my home church. What an absolutely amazing group of imperfect Christ followers. I feel so blessed to have this as my home church. It's about a 45 minute drive each way on Sunday and an hour and a half drive each way for first Wednesday, but I never miss. It's worth it. This is a Bible based church and Pastor Rich goes through the Bible verse Bible verse. No that messages, no tickling of the ear. Just a biblically based church full of loving and accepting people. My kids love the youth and children's ministries. And I am blessed to be plugged in with an awesome men's Bible study group. If you are reading this and considering a visit, do yourself a favor and go. It's one of the best churches I've ever been to. God bless!

This building is the former home of the First Baptist Church of Homestead. The church was organized…read moreon September 5, 1909 by Rev. Henry Howard Sturgis. This building replaced a wooden church on this spot that was built in 1912. The groundbreaking for the building began in June 1940 but construction was interrupted by WWII and it was not completed until January 1944. The former Sunday School building in the rear was built in 1926. It was designated a Homestead Historic landmark in 2000. This is the only remaining neoclassical structure in historic downtown Homestead. The dramatic entrance columns really makes the building stand out. After Hurricane Andrew in 1992 devastated the area, the church members left and built another church at 29050 SW 177th Ave in Homestead. Since then this building has had many other uses. The front of the building has the words The Sanctuary. It was last used as a community church and local special event space. It looks to be unoccupied and may possibly be for sale. How cool it would be to own this historic building.

We were thoroughly impressed by the level of professionalism, compassion, and expertise exhibited by the entire hospital staff. From the very moment she arrived at the emergency room to her final check-out, every encounter with the staff was a testament and commitment to their training, mission, vision for both personal and organizational goals. The attention and kindness shown to the patient and the entire family by the nurses, doctors, and support staff were truly exceptional. The many warm smiles, continued reassurance, and consistent availability by your team were especially remarkable. Such attributes rendered, along with continual communication, provided much peace -of -mind and demonstrated laterally a mastery in communicating very complex matters in very simple ways. I would be amiss should I not mentioned the impeccable cleanliness and how well- streamlined and well-coordinated are the functions and services, which are noteworthy of recognition. We had a very disappointing and upsetting experience with the pastor who came to our home during…read moreour Christmas toy drive foster event. This was a kids' holiday event, with Christmas music, families, and high school student volunteers who are minors, helping for just one hour. The pastor arrived and threatened and intimidated our minor volunteers, which was completely inappropriate and unacceptable. He was disrespectful to all our volunteers and demanded that everyone move their cars from an empty parking area, creating confusion and stress during what should have been a joyful event. Because of his actions, some children were unable to attend since there was suddenly no parking available. This caused sadness and disappointment for families and kids during a Christmas toy drive meant to bring joy. It is very unfortunate and disturbing behavior from someone who calls himself a "pastor." This experience left a very negative impact on our volunteers, our event, and our community.
