The quality of education and…read moreoverall environment are outstanding, making it a great place for anyone looking to further their career. What truly stood out to me was the incredible level of attention and customer service, especially from Mrs. Leonor Nuñez in admissions. She is extremely attentive, kind, and highly professional. She treats every person with respect and patience, taking the time to answer questions and provide clear, helpful information to those of us who call with inquiries or concerns. Her dedication and warm approach make a big difference and reflect very positively on the institution as a whole. I highly recommend Genesis Vocational Institute to anyone seeking a supportive and high-quality educational experience. Carmen Fuentes.

He even translated the material in Spanish for the Spanish-speaking students. As for the school itself, the Director lady was very rude to two of my classmates when they went to pay for the course. They also don't help with job placement, they just tell you to apply on the company's website. Also the bathrooms are ALWAYS disgusting, no toilet paper, pee on the toilet and no soap. One time there was feces clogged in the toilet and no one bothered to fix it. Other than this, the course went well all thanks to our professor which is the only reason why I would recommend this school.

I could be a smart aleck and write a review of my home's living room, or one of the study tables at…read moreBorders, since this is how said "school" feels. Like a lot of people, I was unemployed during the Great Recession. I received some correspondence that to continue getting benefits I had to enroll in a school. Based on recommendations from friends in the industry, I had another school in mind and I mentioned such to my unemployment coordinator. They seemed to drag their feet on my choice, instead leaning and emphasizing on New Horizons. So I went, sat through their sales presentation and started.. Their concept is "Mentored Learning" - a fancy way to say "Self Study". I was given a book (very plain and lacking in examples), headphones and sat in a room where the person sitting next to me was taking a completely different course. Trying to get assistance from said "mentor" was an excercise in pulling teeth. I started working again about a month after starting said "classes" and got my first certification mostly through studying from home with the book I bought at Borders. While I'm able to do the classes online from home because of work, I still have to attend in person do the practice tests. I am still going through the program to finish the certifications, and was told by the person who signed me up to "just memorize the practice exams and that way pass the test". Even though I'm employed, I have to finish the program. Oh, and again I had to buy my own books to have some hope of passing the test. I have gone through three different student services / admissions directors while taking the program in a timespan of a year. The guy who signed me up - an "Account Executive" when I started is currently the lead. The "classroom" is a freezer where you can even hear the very loud conversations in the student lounge. The promised actual practice session where you actually get to put together a computer or do system work - well I've only had two, making the drive out here not worth it. Since it shares floor space with another "technical school", the bathroom is a LONG walk away. Oh, and their website is a dot com, not a dot edu (as most schools). I at least learned that :) This is one place I certainly would not recommend!

I don't have anything positive to say about this school. New Horizons is a "mentor" learning…read moreschool. Which is BS for there are no real teachers here! They provide you with videos and books and tell you good luck. The mentors at New Horizons are just guys who got certified and help you out if you have questions. This place is a rip off! You'll get certified and walk away not knowing hardly anything. No hands-on at all! I would not recommend New Horizons to anyone! Even the job placement at the Miami location is a joke! The girl that works there that places you with jobs rarely placed anyone! If you're thinking about going to this school think twice!

I just became a student for West Coast University last week during the process it has been great…read morebut the person who has really helped me the most has been Diana Martinez. When I finally met her in person, it was just for a split second but then we did a walk to class and she was mentioning about how she does a time management appointment as soon as she said that I went ahead and I booked the appointment with her and come to find out. Yes, she does help you with time management, but she's also your person. I talk to her about why I chose West Coast and how it's so student centric And what it means for me to become a nurse one day and she said she kind of saw herself in me with everything that has happened in my life and anytime that I need Diana for something I email her she responds to me very quick she's very fast she's an awesome advisor From the little time that i have known her I can tell that she does care for the students and the department and I could tell that she really does care for me and I even told her you know please hold my hand to help me with this entire process because I know it's going to get harder from here. if anyone wants to join West Coast University please do it is very student centric and they do care about you especially my advisor Diana honestly I know that if one day I have a meltdown I can go straight to her and she will calm me down. I love West Coast and the faculty and staff and I appreciate Diana Martinez very much because whenever I need her for anything, she's always there. So if you're hesitant on joining West Coast University, please read this and don't be hesitant anymore because it is a great school. Big THANK YOU to Diana for always helping me and checking in on me.

The reality is, they will do everything in their power to dismiss you especially if you're outspoken, advocate for yourself, or simply refuse to be silent. Speaking up for yourself? Trust me, they'll find a way to push you out. Talking to the director? Doesn't matter--they don't care. It's all about tuition dollars. They set students up to fail. Concerns aren't addressed, they're brushed aside. The entire system feels designed to profit off students instead of genuinely educating them. Bottom line: this school is not invested in your success it's invested in your wallet.
