I joined Rob's coaching program, with a series of goals in mind. I wanted to become more charismatic and achieve deeper connections with others, I wanted to be a story teller and to be the life of the party, I wanted to be rid of self-doubt, fear and anxiety and I wanted to be able to confidently approach, speak to and date women. I saw myself as someone who was wasting potential and I wanted to challenge myself and pull myself out of my comfort zone, to become the best version of myself that I could be.
The moment I decided to follow through with coaching was when I saw Rob himself talking to others and making meaningful connections. The way he carried himself, his body language, his strong eye contact, the emotion he evoked out of others and most of all the positive energy he bought around the table was infectious. I was in awe and thought to myself 'this is kind of person I want to be like'.
When I told close family and friends about the coaching I was receiving I expressed to them that it wasn't so much that coaching was to fix my problems but that I was taking coaching as a way to invest in myself. I was extremely driven and determined to improve multiple areas of my life and through coaching rather than looking at it as a process to 'fix things' I explained that it's an exciting ride of learning things about yourself that you didn't know existed. Learning to be in tune with your self being given tools, techniques and lessons to improve yourself and as a result a more fulfilled life.
The growth I've personally made receiving coaching from Rob has been immeasurable. For the majority of my life I have been quite introverted and shy by nature, I struggled to maintain eye-contact coupled with closed off body language I was extremely reserved and unapproachable. I used to dread going to social outings, always with the mindset praying for it to be over, finding myself mentally exhausted. Now I find myself excited to connect with others, getting to know other people, having great self-confidence and building meaningful relationships.
My big moment of realisation of what I had achieved was when I was at a social function. A friend of mine pointed out that they couldn't imagine me as passive or introverted, that was the trigger that made me realise almost the entire evening I was telling stories, engaging with people I hadn't met before and was being the 'life of the party'. It was this moment that made me think to myself 'look how far you've come'.
What I was most surprised about was how the results in coaching happened more naturally and incidentally in my day to day life. After conversing with others I'd realise once the conversation had ended that I applied techniques learned from coaching without really even thinking about it. For example the first couple of months after receiving coaching I noticed I was putting more emotion into conversations, telling stories, listening intently, I even found that I managed to open someone up emotionally who was unconsciously 'blocking' conversation due to socially learned habits. It was these 'aha' moments that allowed me to appreciate and continue the exciting coaching process with Rob. read more
