He worked so hard during my wedding....even when my own wedding coordinator was rushing us to go inside the clubhouse, Brian took his time and didn't let her get in the way of his getting the perfect shots for us. I took note of the fact that after multiple shots that he took of our family, he ALWAYS reviewed the picture on his camera to make sure that he got a good shot (no blinks, shadows, etc) before he went on to take the next family picture. Before I even talk about the photography itself, I was just amazed at the professionalism that Heather and Matthew displayed while working with us. They suggested amazing shots, were very upbeat and helpful and it almost feels as if Heather is just as excited as you are when it comes to your wedding almost like a Bridesmaid/Photographer hybrid, which is why I felt compelled to write a review here, because what we experienced and saw on other reviews vs. what Phallin experienced are complete opposites. As far as photography goes, before hand we really had no knowledge on what we wanted to do in regards of where we wanted to take engagement pictures, or what type of shots we were looking for but I feel this is really something that Heather does really well. She suggested places that we could go that could produce some really great shots for our engagement pictures and she will literally go the extra mile for a great photo ( I have saw her run up 2 flights of stairs with a full set photo equipment multiple times in ~90 degree weather just so she could get the perfect shot which is impressive in itself). On our wedding day, Heather and Matthew came to the venue early and cleaned up a spot outside that made for some really great shots which is again, something that was not expected but just a testament of how they will go the extra mile to make sure that your day is captured perfectly in pictures. Also during the wedding they were very receptive with our guests and even took pictures with the guests phones when requested along side with taking professional pictures, which is something that I heard is usually not done by professional photographers. All in all I rarely write reviews; if something is great its great, if its not its not, but you can not go wrong with Heather and Matthew in Uptown Downtown Photography, the Price-to-Service ratio is amazing and more people need to know how much of a asset they will be to your wedding and capturing your special day. I really tried to find some constructive criticism but honestly could not as this is probably the best service that I have had to pay for for this wedding. As stated in direct conversations with AJ he was our only videographer. When he brought concerns to…read moreus, we directed the wedding coordinator (employed by the venue) to handle them as the photographer was part of the venue package. Once the coordinator spoke to the photographer we never received another complaint from AJ. He continued to video throughout the night. I have multiple emails and messages from AJ assuring us we would receive a completed video, not just raw footage. There was never any information conveyed to us that the video was not "approved" by the executives. In fact I have no idea who those executives would even be since there was no communication that videos were reviewed. Promises were made repeatedly and never followed through. We were told in writing that AJ had spent money to "assure a one of a kind wedding video", that would be finalized by B Lucas (cousin of George Lucas). In our conversations I understood the final product could contain shots with interference from the photographer. AJ also put in writing that he would refund us and that never happened. This has been an almost two year adventure and AJ ceased communication months ago. It's interesting that his company is just now replying to an updated review made 7 months ago.
