Somehow from someone at this local USPS office, they marked my package delivered on Sunday right after 1PM, I don't quite understand that considering this office is closed on Sunday, and they have never ran in my neighborhood on a Sunday. And I didn't get my package. I was instructed by the merchant to wait up until 48 hours to consider it stolen or missing. We are not receiving mail as we should. We have informed delivery which tells you what you should receive each day. We only receive half if what is shown. I have called and filled out information on the informed delivery website of mail we did NOT receive. this seems to be a constant problem especially now it is tax time and we need all the information sent for filing. Easily the worst experience I've ever had. I was in the main office a few days ago when a man was there, obviously upset because his package had not come. Not one, but two clerks were arguing with him about HIS PACKAGE!! The slimmer girl (I don't know her name, La something) told the man IN FRONT OF EVERYONE that she would beat his a$$ !! A FEDERAL EMPLOYEE! Not only that, this place is slow as molasses on a good day. It took the bank sending me 4 debit cards before I received one. My insurance company sent me 2 checks that I never received so they direct deposited. I'm waiting to receive something from Social Security they sent it 3 times and I still haven't received it. If you try to call the phone is usually off the hook. This place is traditionally slow as molasses and it just doesn't matter how many complaints can be filed, they just go even slower. This particular post office is just the sum result of an interesting trend that I can't wait to see finalized: the postal service is dying. Have you recently ordered something from, say, Amazon, and had a tracking number and expected date of arrival. In the past, all the regular shipping services honored that date. UPS and Fedex still do. But have you noticed that suddenly your packages from the USPS isn't arriving when expected? Suddenly they have misdirected packages and delays. Your package is due to arrive on Saturday at 8pm, shows up on the tracker as 'arrived' but you never got it. Does this sound familiar? You're not alone. The USPS has reduced itself to lying because it can't handle the enormous postal load due to internet purchasing. You would think this major shipping standard would have capitalized on this flow of practically free money, but instead, they refuse to hire more people, refuse to raise rates like any normal business and refused to adapt to the new technologies. I worked for the postal service in the past. I have family that still works for the postal service and NOTHING has changed to keep up with more business. They can argue all they want that UPS and Fedex is taking some of their business, but the Post Office is a core life process. Everyone mails a letter, regardless of email. Everyone needs to mail a package until they have Star Trek like transporters to beam things around. But the USPS is still operated in the same mind-frame similar to what destroyed "Blockbuster" video and I cannot wait. I have long hated the post office, the slow employees that just won't retire or quit --- the attitudes of the people clinging to a union for their own safety as an excuse for poor behavior and work practices ... which translates down to places like the Lithonia, GA post office with one worker that opens at 9am when the door says 8:30am. A line going out the door and they just don't care as they slowly press this and check that. The death knell is upon this bygone service as we find less reason to mail letters and Fedex is much, much MUCH more reliable. I would pay the extra money to get my packages on time and get better customer service. Going to the post office ANYWHERE is like willingly getting tortured.
