I was seeking their assistance in finding a summer internship position. Upon initial contact, an employee informed me that they could help me, but when I tried to contact them back, they would often not return my call. When another employee called me back, she left a scathing message informing me that they only assisted people who are able to work along with a verity of other rude remarks, questioning my ability to work while also informing me that they could not help me. This is not a very smart message to leave on a law student's answering machine, and I did save the voice message for my records. This happened after I made sure to inform the employee that made the initial contact that I am a full-time law student and often cannot answer phone calls, but I also informed her that I would return every call when I return from class. After reaching the woman who left the rude voice message, she informed me that the employee who initially contacted me took a hiatus from work for a few weeks. Now, I am trying to find a more helpful organization, but good riddance to New England Business Associates! It's a shame because it seems like they think that people with disabilities are supposed to stay chained to their home phones, not seek higher education, and not have a life. This is a group that does not deserve federal funding!
