I spoke with the administrator and made him aware and demanded the mold be tested and remediated. Two days later a new piece of drywall was put up and the peeling wallpaper (covered in mold) was glued back on the wall. There are also other areas of his room with black mold that have not been addressed. The administrator is very dismissive and has ZERO care or concern. I also noticed mold in the patients room across the hall and asked the patient if I could take a picture. The entire facility is disgusting and the staff is unprofessional and rude. The pictures on the website are NOT what the place actually looks like. My father has COPD, emphysema, severe asthma and advanced lung disease. One day he had issues breathing and he requested that his nurse Emanuel call 911. His nurse REFUSED to call, so my father stated he would call 911 on his own and his nurse told my father that when the ambulance came he was going to tell them to leave and that my father refused treatment!!! My father called 911 anyway and was in the hospital for a week!!!! I confronted the nurse and he admitted to me that he refused to call because my father refused to allow him to check his vitals! On another occasion, Emanuel came in to administer my fathers eye drops after cataract surgery. He did not wash his hands, grabbed a pair of gloves and sat them on a dirty sink. He then proceeded to open my father's eye drops when I told him he needed to wash his hands. He picked the gloves off the sink and held them up as if wearing a pair of gloves was sufficient. I stated I did not care about his contaminated gloves and told him he must wash his hands, especially since my father has just had eye surgery!!! He proceeded to wash his hands WITHOUT SOAP!!! There was no medical staff to greet me nor my mom for check in and yet I was not able to go up on the elevator with her. That entire process made me less than comfortable. My mother was nervous of going into any facility from the start because it was not family that would be caring for her. I assured her that I had worked with the social workers and the place was nice. After going back home I wanted to check in with my mother to see how she had settled in and if she had ate. I had to call numerous times before someone answered the phone on the floor. Immediately I noticed the phone system was so shotty that I could barely hear the person on the other side. When I made them aware of it they said that nothing was wrong with the phone because they did not hear what I heard (static in the line). I noted the fact that they were dismissive. I took note of it and continued. The person was unprofessional and seemed unconcerned with the fact that my mother had not had anything to eat since early that day. All she had to offer was that the kitchen was closed and that I should be the one to order food for her from the outside. I was appalled! What kind of place is it when they knew that they were receiving a patient from the hospital and did not have a meal ready? I further found out that they did not have her medication either. After checking the next morning in fact they still had not given my mother any medication. I further learned that although I had informed them that my mother was on a soft food diet; they brought her sausages and pancakes that they gave everyone else. She could not cut it or chew it. They brought her nothing else. So yet another day of not eating they apparently had planned for her. I asked the staff to not put any diapers on my mom because she uses the bed pan. They put diapers on her. My mom told me she was "scared". She was afraid to ask for what she needed because the "nurses" were mean to her last night. I am only glad that I gave my mother a cell phone because those "nurses" hardly ever answer the phone and when they do they do not answer questions. I am a concerned daughter who care about my mother and her care and if I knew that this place was a dump I would have never allowed the hospital to take her there. This was supposed to prepare her to come home with me. This was supposed to allow her to get stronger to be able to walk to the bath room on her own. They had already set her back by not getting her into a sitting position or allowing her to use the bed pan. This is due to under staffing! When I asked a direct question, what is the ratio for staff to patient? no one wanted to answer my question. That screamed volumes to me. The staff looked at each other and one of them said "lets be honest", while looking at another staff member. Then looked at me and said they were going to comply and go and get my mother. At that point it was clear to them what my intentions were and that was to take my mother out of the place. They objected and it fell on deaf ears because at that point I had exhausted all of my patience with the lack of professionalism, lack of concern, lack of safety and no one wanting to answer any questions about their staffing practices. I had talked all that I was gonna talk to people with no ability to make decisions. Since the decision making people were "off" on the weekends I would taking MY MOTHER out of this place. While taken her out they informed me that if I took her home I would be taking her without the oxygen that she requires so I was putting her life at risk. I informed James the male who identified himself as a "nurse", that leaving my mom here was putting her life at risk. He was completely and totally unconcerned with my moms welfare and only concerned with the fact that I was taking my mom out on his watch. Since he put it that way I called 911. I had my mom taken out of this place. When my mom arrived at the hospital she had dry feces on her with an adult diaper covering it up. That was a metaphor indicative of what type of place this is. No one should be at this place if the intention is to rehabilitate. My mother suffered a set back in less than 24 hours and I was not gonna wait as they suggested to see what they could do. That in itself was very unprofessional because you don't tell a patient's loved one that they need a chance when they should have been ready to receive the patient coming from a hospital. This was a traumatic experience for my 80 year old mother who was not in the position to defend herself. Her biggest fears were realized. What about the people who do not have family members that will rescue them.

From the very beginning, Steve always provided solid care as well as support -- I could voice my personal hurdles, concerns, and apprehensions and feel truly that they were heard, worked into the overall plan moving forward, and communicated in a way that always made sense to me. The lessons learned in therapy about musculoskeletal care/wellness will provide value to me for years to come. She asked some questions to be sure she understood my issue then allowed me to ask as many questions as I needed to. I was sent to PT down the hall for a brace. The therapist, Norah, was super nice and also answered all my questions. She took her time fitting the brace to be sure it was perfect. She also made sure I understood how to do the exercises . Our first visit to PPM was after my husband woke up on a Saturday morning and couldn't move his head--his neck was literally frozen in place. He was in so much pain he actually considered medication (which if you knew him you would know would mean he must be REALLY hurting!) Anyway, we looked up any chiropractors in the area who might have Saturday hours (since our regular guy was a M-F office in Center City). We stumbled upon Philadelphia Pain Management--which to our surprise was located just 2 blocks from our house. We called and they said no appointment was needed--we could just come right over. AWESOME! After filling out some standard paperwork we inquired about the cost. Although he would have probably paid anything to ease his pain, we were excited to hear that they had a "multi pack" payment option that gave us something like a dozen visits for $130?!? Wow! We had the option to go through our insurance but I knew there was no way our copay would be less than $20/visit so we opted for the multi pack. Best decision ever! A few short minutes later and he was on his way to recovery. Dr. Jim was polite, thorough, and incredible friendly. The office seems to typically deal with Workman's Comp and Auto Accident patients mostly so he left it at "come back when you need it"--something my husband liked very much (he hates the pressure to book his next appointment before leaving or needing to sign up for a some sort of chiropractic program). Anyway, after another visit and some electric muscle stimulation he was cured. Since then he has returned a few times, but in the meantime he has converted me to being a regular patient. I really liked that when I returned to see Dr. Jim for my own treatment he remembered me from Scott's visit. Impressive memory! I love the drop in policy and have never had to wait more than about 15 minutes (at the most!) Overall, I highly recommend Dr. Jim--not only is it affordable chiropractic care but the staff are great and it's super convenient.

So far I think it is medium size faciility and a lot exercise equipment (makes me feel like home) and physical therapy in the future for me. I love it because I am missing the gym so much after my incident. When you are use to being active any type of serious injury can make you feel like you lost control of your life. But god sends you a little help and pain management and physical therapy are a guiding light. Imagine the days when there was no rehabilition guidance...feel sorry for those who suffered so much. Anyways, I hope to heal. I do recommend this center for those who need a facility for pain and injury.
