I can't say much about United Auto Insurance other than I've been insured by them for five years and they provide me with the most affordable auto insurance. Fortunately, I have avoided any possible fender benders, head-on collisions, etc, that I could have possibly had the misfortune of experiencing in the past five years and am rewarded for being a safe driver with lower rates almost every six months. Yay for saving money! I have the option to pay for my insurance once every six months or make a down payment and pay once a month for six months. Usually, I take the former option. I have made most of my payments over the phone, though it is possible to process payment online or through snail mail. The only downer paying over the phone is the few dollars they tack on as a service fee; luckily, I am not too sensitive and have gotten over that fact by now. ;) If you're looking for low-cost auto insurance, give UAI a call. I'm sure you already have the number in your head; their jingle is catchy! ***"773-202-5000! We've got you covered, Chicagoooo!"*** read more

Don't be fooled by the catchy jingle! I needed to file a claim and spent over an hour and a half on hold. Once the representative answered, I asked what took so long for someone to answer they stated that most of their staff was at lunch. I asked to speak to a supervisor and they hung up on me. The process of filing a claim and the unbelievably rude response and service are enough reasons NOT to use this company. read more

Used their services for 5+ years. The lack of a real login on their website always made things inconvenient needing to contact them directly to get proof of insurance instead of just downloading myself like any other provider. Cancelling is a frustrating process, I called and was told I need to send an email, and after sending the email I was told I need to send a document with my signature on it. Never again, would recommend any other like Geico, Progressive, State Farm, Allstate, even Lemonade. read more

SCAM!!SCAM!!HORRIBLE!!HORRIBLE!! My name is Osvaldo Esquivel, I have been their client for 8 years already, I just had an accident 3 weeks a ago and they are taking forever to pay the damages of my car, I'm renting a car that's is costing me money from my packet. The person that is in charge of my case never answers the phone, her name is Rubensca Sinfonte, she doesn't reply the voicemail mail either ( no communication at all ) My question is : THIS IS HOW YOU PAY SOMEONE WHO HAS BEEN PAYING YOUR SERVICE FOR 8 YEARS IN A ROAD AND IS CALLING YOU FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 8 YEARS ? OMG!! Case Number 0100410209 This is unbelievable!!!!!. We are in America !! We are better than that !!! I don't recommend this company at all !!! read more

Don't do it!!! Lack of communication with customers, if your premium payment changes they don't inform you especially if it goes up for no reason..They'll send you a letter to renew your insurance with the amount on it & once you pay they'll call & say u owe more like double more.. I can go on & on... Don't do it!!!!!!! I been with them for about a dedicate I fault me because there had been signs that I ignored... don't do it!!!!!!!. read more

They are not the insurance company. They set you up with an insurance company that gives slightly lower rates than others. In my case it was American Alliance. Enjoy your lower rates until you have an accident. After my accident I called American Alliance immediately, rather I tried to call. I was on hold for an hr. Finally a woman picked up and asked if I could give a recorded statement then put me on hold, again I waited well over 40 min with no response. This has happened a number of times. I was never able to reach someone. I called UAI to complain about the service and the woman told me that I was assigned American Alliance as my insurance carrier because it's cheap and I should accept the service. I want to add that American Alliance has a 1 star rating so after years I switched to GEICO for real insurance and the same rates. read more

This company took my daughter's money monthly and we didn't even know the insurance she was under was a scam company. They represent American Alliance Auto. This company denied my daughter's claim. Her car was stolen and destroyed. When I read the reviews on this so called company, they were allllll bad. I will make sure everyone knows on all platforms about these scammers!!!! read more

This is the worst insurance company I've ever encountered. They are unprofessional and play complete games when it comes to handling claims. They are a for show company collecting people's money but will certainly set up clients for the fall to be sued. I've never considered taking a fight all the way to the United States Congress until now, they should be criminally charged and the insurance industry should be more regulated. This company is a SCAM!!!! read more

I've been a loyal customer for over 10yrs. They called my 19yr at 9pm and tried to quote her $7000 for liability I don't care if she was 16 that amount is ridiculously crazy then when she politely says no thank you she's hung up on no thank you for your time good evening just hung up. She has insurance for $1300 with another company. They have lost a customer!!! read more

Please don't email me anymore. I'm no longer insured with UAI. It is such a rip off!!! I've been insured with your company for at least 10 plus years and you're going to raised my insurance price up to $1000. I've been paying around 500 every 6 months and I've never got an accident with you guys. Both of my car is over 10 years old and I'm not even getting full coverage. Charging me. $1000 for 6 month for both car? That's ridiculous!!!!!!! I'm with Statefarm now and I got full coverage for both of my car and it's only $560 for 6 months. Sorry I will not return to UAI such a rip off. Take your business else where read more

POS COMPANY!! They'll happily take your money from you every month but when there's a problem they will do ANYTHING to not pay for that.. so even if you file a claim the same day you find out about the damage you better ALWAYS call the cops first and file a report even if it's a minor thing or an issue where calling the cops helps nothing.. THEY WILL DENY YOUR CLAIM.. even though they talked to me the day I filed the claim and did not ask about a police report nor did they tell me I need to get one for this case. Only AFTER the adjuster did the inspection did I just now get a letter stating that they won't be covering me after all. And before I went and bought a new car I told them that I would be planning on driving for Uber or Lyft for a bit. They said I would just need to change my policy and today when I call to do that I'm told that they only work with one company that insures people driving for Lyft or Uber.. but it's a "limited policy" which only allows you to drive for personal use.. NOT WHILE USING LYFT/UBER.. what??? Why would I change my policy and pay more for a "Lyft policy" that doesn't let me drive for Lyft?? When they were explaining this to me I thought either I was not understanding them right.. not that they have a moronic policy! IF YOU WANT A COMPANY THAT WILL BE THERE TO TAKE YOUR MONEY EVERY MONTH BUT WILL NOT COVER YOU WHEN YOU NEED THEM... THEN THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU!! If not, go to a company that cares about their clients AT ALL. Before this incident I had a small accident several years back and they sent out an adjuster three times to inspect my car like I was trying to pull some fraud. The adjuster even came out to my workplace to examine the car for the third time! And he said that he even went to the business where I said the accident happened to pull the tape. These guys are SLIMEY! They'll do whatever they can or have to do to slither their way out of paying for any claim. If you're in a real bad spot where most companies won't accept you, you might be happy here. But if you want s company you can RELY ON.. GO ANYWHERE ELSE!! And this is coming from someone that's used UAI for over a decade. Luckily I had no issues before this otherwise I'd be long gone. read more

First off you're not insured with United auto insurance which is false advertising. You're I insured by direct auto insurance which is THE WORST COMPANY! You wait on hold for at least an hour to talk to a person regarding a claim. In addition to that the roadside assistance company has unprofessional very rude tow truck drivers along with horrible customer service! Definitely not renewing with uai. read more

If you happen to get into any accident or fender bender they are the worst people to deal with...i had full coverage with them for 8years as soon as i get into a accident they don't want to return my phone calls, messages, or emails its bin over a month and i still don't know whats going on with my car..they just keep saying "we'll call you back" and never have....i received a call from them yesterday but all they wanted to talk about was my next payment for my insurance not my actual car ....what a fucking joke of a company read more

I used to be insurance with them in the past and they were not the best insurance. I figured i will call them for another quote to see if they were A little cheaper. Seems like there is a trend here and nothing seems to be done about their poor service. I was insured through them for an SR-22 policy. Seeing as how most large insurance firms do not hold those policies, I was forced to go to this joke of a company. During the primary steps of inquiring about the policy details, the phone rep insisted on pushing the sale and not listening to my questions AT ALL. AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE. They required me to Call them back to make sure that they received my scanned registration forms!!! Who does that??? Management needs to wake up! Once my legal obligation was fulfilled, I began the refund process. It seems every manager is on break, or every employee can't seem to find an answer involving details or metrics of any kind. It has been 5 weeks and I AM STILL WAITING FOR MY REFUND. This company could not be worse if they tried. read more

Please DONOT buy this insurance. They have been sending me renewal notices every 2nd day but never sent me policy document and/or ID card. I requested them to mail me copy of ID card many times and after multiple follow-up, I didn't receive it yet. The support staff is absolutely un-professional and never apologize for any delay. Despite of multiple requests to send policy document, I never received one. During pandemic I have struggling hard to get a print of insurance. I made a payment online 5 days prior to renewal and all I get is that the actual insurance company is reviewing document and will take 2-3 weeks to send the document. It's a SCAM. A joke of a company that is more then willing to take cash but offer little to no coverage. I had the displeasure of getting hit by someone who is covered by this company and it was a literal hell trying to get any form of payment. They contacted me numerous times and offered a humorous amount that I obviously declined. The business it's self is also extremely shady. I hope no one ever gets into an accident especially, if its with an insured customer by this company. United auto themselves are very nice! But what u don't know is they are tied to American Alliance..those are the people that would have to pay if u make a claim!! My car was stolen from my job July 29th the car keys dropped out my purse by the exit door at my job and I didn't hear them..my car was in the parking lot someone found the keys 3 hrs later started chirping around the lot found my car got in and drove off! So September 23rd they sent me a letter saying they denied my claim because my car wasn't physically broken into! Lol they found my car two weeks after it was stolen..tires..radio..stereo missing front and back bumpers dangling off! It's been propped up in my lot ever since! It only has 56,000 miles never been in an accident! Now I have only a shell and paid 26000 and only had it 4 years and the WHOLE FOUR YEARS I HAD UNITED AUTO INSURANCE lmao!!! Jokes on me huh? Now I have no car..no money for a brand new one..my son with a learning disability has to take rides with relatives and I have to walk to work..I worked hard for that car I saved for years just for a 6000 down payment! Now I'm at ground zero AGAIN! I feel so cheated for something I did not do and insurance claimed to cover if my vehicle was ever stolen! JACKIE IS THE WORST!!!! UAI CHEATS ON THEIR CUSTOMERS!!!! If you are a current customer or interested in becoming one, DO NOT!!!! This is the WORST auto insurance company I have ever had for a number of reasons: 1.) THEY ARE VERY INCOMPETENT. I have been a customer for 3 years and they still mess up my policy! 2.) THET ARE VERY RUDE AND DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS! I received a phone call on 06/24/19 from one of their customer "CARE" specialists named JACKIE - one of the RUDEST and MEANEST people I have ever dealt with who shouldn't even be assigned to deal with their customers - told me that my policy, which was about to end in less than 30 days, was quoted BY MISTAKE; that they had ACCIDENTALLY given me a 9-month term instead of a 9-month term. During this 15-minute conversation, all that JACKIE had been doing is FORCING me to pay $228 upfront. She even suggested, in a very AGGRESSIVE manner, that I should borrow money FROM SOMEONE ELSE so I could pay them off to avoid any interests/additional fees and even threatens to cancel my coverage. JACKIE said to me that I shouldn't be upset over this (I dare her manager playback our conversation) because this is money that I OWE THEM and I don't have any other choice but to pay them off. I am not sure if she's just unhappy with her job but anyone else who can read this review will agree that this is not how you treat customers! 3.) THEY WILL CHARGE YOU FOR THE ERRORS THEY MADE! Since that I refused to pay them the $228 upfront, I received a mail from them on 06/29/19 "...a $31.75 late charge has been added to your unpaid balance as provided by your contract. To bring your account up to date, you must send us your check or money order in the amount of $258.97." So, on top of the $228 they're trying to charge me with because they made a "mistake" on my policy, they are also charging me a $31.75 fee because of my refusal to pay the $228 over the phone! DO NOT EVER get a policy from this auto insurance company! I will make sure that I warn everyone that I know about this and post this review to EVERY website that I find. read more

Would give negative 5 stars if possible! I signed up for a policy but canceled the next day, sent them the email the very same day, told me I'd get my refund in about a month. Month later, nothing! Called again, apparently someone made an error and I'll get in 5-7 days. Check comes, $46 dollars short. Call again, now they have no idea what I'm talking about and say that I've had the policy longer than I actually had it. They even signed me up for SR-22, which I NEVER asked for nor needed!! I'm so glad I dropped this shady insurance company!! If you want decent insurance with affordable rates I suggest Fiesta! If you want to be ripped off United Auto is your place! read more

DO NOT waste your income tax at United Auto! They will sell you a lemon! Then refuse to fix anything! And leave you on the side of the road because they do not give rides and they do not give loaners! Their cars are trash and they do not care! I started leasing the car in March. I had to take it to Kia for a smoke test because my check engine light was on, due to a leak in the seal of a valve hose that leads to my gas tank. In the process Kia tells me i have 5 recalls. So Kia fixed the recalls. Except the one in my engine passed. In the meantime United Auto gives me a run around about fixing the leak. And within a month my engine locked up. I had just left their shop not even 10 minutes prior to my engine locking up. I was driving from the service department to the finance department when my engine locked up. I wanted to discuss getting another car because i did not feel safe in my car. The owner told the service rep to leave me on the side of the road because we do not give loaners and we do not give rides! The girl out of the kindness of her heart pick me up after work and took me home. And now she is no longer with the company. Kia fixed my engine because it had to do with the recall. And United Auto still will not fix the leak to my gas tank. read more

Yes the insurance is cheap but wait till you have to file a claim with this company. I was involved in a accident that left my car un drivable and United Auto insurance wouldn't help me because the accident occurred on a Sunday and I would have to call back on Monday for assistance. The following day I filed a claim and it has been a nightmare dealing with this company. The customer service is terrible and when you need answers on regarding your claim, no one will return your calls and if you do get to speak to someone they are extremely rude and won't answer your questions. I only gave them one star because I had to. If you need insurance go to a real insurance company. My first claim ever and the bullshit insurance companies they are working with are the worst. UAI and all the insurance companies they work for are worthless. read more

This actually a legal scam (think business). UAI found loophole that can provide a dummy insurance that you "pay monthly" just to have insurance in the system. But do not mistake this as a working auto insurance company. They will fight their own clients under their policy to avoid negative cash flow, as they did to me when my car was stolen; they sent a representative to prove me wrong (and they're supposed to be on my side), UAI will delay/ disregard any police report. A few major things and scenario involving United Auto Insurance (UAI): 1. If sign up with this company take your payment but will not support you. 2. If another driver under UAI hits you, forget about going through them. United Auto Insurance will delay/pretend and avoid that they received any police report. Since you're the one who needs the car repair, UAI expects that you'll just go through your own insurance (pay the deductible), and wait until the problem goes away while UAI will raise the premium of their policy holder. 3. If you have been a victim of this situation regarding UAI, register the complaint to the Better Business Bureau (link below): https://www.bbb.org/consumer-complaints/file-a-complaint/nature-of-complaint/ Unfortunately, most people just want to get out of this dilemma but they fail to document the situation through BBB. read more

Then in Dec/2014, I went to the regular oil change from my auto dealership, and they found a control arm problem and suggest me for the repair. So they call this guy, and the nightmare began. They declined every time using different reasons, some are even very ridiculous, saying that I need to drive 200 more miles to fit their requirement, but they never agreed to fulfill their insurance responsibility from their eligibility coverage. I got 4 months without any repair for my vehicle because of their cheating. I gave up finally, I decided to cancel the contract, and ask my credit agency to investigate this company & their behavior.
