My 6 year old is learning about God from the childcare, while I'm in church. He also attends Awauna, where he learns bible verses. For me ChangePoint is the perfect fit. I've been part of the family for four years now and they…read morecontinue to be a model for what "church" is supposed to be. From their high regard for children, to their dynamic, entertaining and challenging messages, the ChangePoint family is truly a blessed bunch. The two main preachers, Dan and Joel, are a couple of the most intelligent, colorful, insightful and humble church leaders I've ever known. Dan is as lovable as Baloo the Bear and Joel seems to channel the personality of comedian Mike Myers. It's always a treat to hear either one of them speak. Sometimes I just feel like laughing and the two definitely deliver. The music ranges from Christian rock to beautiful inspiring melodies, enhanced by violin and cello. The singers and high tech crew put on a beautiful worship service. One of the most important teachings the staff at ChangePoint stresses is that 'Sunday church' is only a small part of what a church should be. This church family truly shines outside its lofty walls. They offer a great variety of volunteer opportunities for everyone to get involved. A Church is only as good as those who attend. The more effort one puts in, the more everyone benefits. Through ChangePoint, people are being served and cared for all over the globe. In conclusion, I simply couldn't be happier with the staff at ChangePoint. They work hard at fulfilling everyone's dream of an honest (financials are always available to view), caring, enlightening and uplifting church that one can open their hearts to and trust like family.

The pastor is a bit on the busy side. I don't know that you would have an easy time getting a one on one at any point. But he is generally seen as gifted Apostolically so one has to find someone on staff who is gifted pastorally if they want to have one on one's. I recommend this church if you are charismatic and believe in healing.

Fast forward to today and I am reminded of my thoughts then. It's one of newer chapels with modern design and architecture. The benches are comfortable with the padded pews and matching hassocks. Sound system is better too, thus the voices of the officiants carry through a lot more clearly and with less echoing. Restroom facilities are quite clean as well. The only thing that needs to be upgraded is the unpaved driveway.

As a convert to Catholicism, I especially prefer the more traditional mass, provided there is vibrancy and inspiration. I've got enough visits under my belt to sum up a decent review of this parish. St. Patrick's is enthusiastically community/family minded, the church is quite beautiful, with the windows, and cross of Jesus above the altar standing out as highlights. Pastor Father Leo is really quite resplendent given his personality and welcoming nature. The music program is ambitious, the hymn choices consist mainly of long time congregational favorites, and for the most part, many join in from the pews. The readings are nice and clear, and the homilies are up close and personal. Some may be taken aback from the out of the ordinary atmosphere here, in fact, I have heard that it is much like to going to a "picnic." Having said that, I myself have not been able to fully commit to becoming a member of this church. However, I am grateful to have it nearby, for when my life could use a boost/pick me up. Even though the energy here is uncommon in general, for a Catholic church, other churches in town could take a few lessons from St. Patrick's Parish, as the love of Christ is truly present here.
