The pastor is a bit on the busy side. I don't know that you would have an easy time getting a one on one at any point. But he is generally seen as gifted Apostolically so one has to find someone on staff who is gifted pastorally if they want to have one on one's. College away from home, marriage, and children then took up so much of my time that I gave up the practice. But now that everyone in the family is self-sufficient, I began my Anchorage search for where I fit. I tried several denominations as it does not matter which faith with all the same God. I did not return if I was not felt welcome. Five churches later, I found this acceptance at Saint John. Their motto is even "...to be a WELCOMING family joyfully sharing God's light". Anyhow, my boyfriend and I have been church hopping to find one that we both love since we relocated here. We came from two different denominations of Christianity; so we both have our own expectations to how church and services are supposed to be. We have only attended one service here so far but we both love it. We were so welcomed when we were first entered through the door. We didn't feel like we were pressured into be part of their congregation at all. The service was carried out in a relax and family oriented manner. You could bring your drinks and snacks that were provided for in the cafeteria into the service. The sermon was short and meaningful. The decoration was simple but endearing in its own way.
