I went to Uni straight from school and was lucky enough to have all my classes for my media degree at Magill. It's a great local campus with public transport, plenty of cheap parking, food facilities and easy going small classes. The setting is beautiful, with lots of grass, open space, trees, bridges, park benches and a creek that runs pretty heavy after rain in the hills. I went here for 3 years and the time was good and I learnt a lot. The teachers were ok, not the best, but you always get the good and the bad. If you are lucky enough to be able to complete your whole Uni degree away from the city, then make the most of it. I used to be a student here back in 2000 and I used to bitch and moan about how boring it was. 'We don't even have a decent bar here, the best thing about this place is the creek, why aren't I popular, waaah!' After attending Flinders and working around the corner from Magill Uni for the last year however, I've realised that it's actually a beautiful campus and the main problem with it was my stinking attitude! Magill students have a local, the Tower Hotel, just up the road, as well as some really good and cheap food places just up on Magill Road. The 106 bus goes straight from the city to uni pretty much constantly and there's heaps of parking (unlike other University's) so they don't have to worry about transport, and it's a beautiful campus! The gardens are immaculate and the buildings are a mixture of beautiful historic and totally up to date modern. It's a sweet Uni! And I bet all you nature loving kids just can't get enough of that creek. read more

I don't even go to UniSA. I'm a University of Adelaide girl. But I absolutely LOVE the campus they have at Magill! It's absolutely beautiful. I love the relationship that UniSA and Adelaide have, because it means I can go to the library at the UniSA Magill campus and borrow books using my University of Adelaide ID. Which is great, because, for some reason, I'm always too late to borrow books I need for an assignment at the Barr Smith Library. But that means I'm able to go to the library at Magill, and they always have what I'm looking for. Which makes me a very happy camper! Also, the parking prices are ridiculously cheap! It makes me wish I could have studied harder in high school so I could have gotten the marks for Journalism at UniSA, but whatever. The Aroma Cafe here is great too, a lot of places to sit and a lot of foods to choose from. It's just so pretty here. I love it. read more

I love Magill campus. It is so much different from most of Adelaide's other universities that are located in the city. Magill campus is so green! There is a large amount of grass, trees and even it's own river. I like this so much better than the concrete jungles in the city. You can sit on the grass on breaks, which is very relaxing (but you really don't get too much work done doing this). I also like the fact that it is not located in the city because you can't just walk off to go shopping. When I went to university in the city I would always run off during my breaks and spend all my money, at Magill it is easier to sit inside and work. The problem with this is the limited food. You have two cafes to chose from, which are over-priced and not all that tasty. I definitely recommend bringing your own food, but you will become best friends with the coffee man! There are limited subjects at Magill, as the University of South Australia is split over numerous campuses around Adelaide. So it is really luck whether you end up going here. I have been to two different universities and I must admit I prefer UniSA the most. It is more hands on and you are looked after very well. They ensure you have great connections when you finish so you can more easily get a job. Additionally throughout the degree, tutors constantly tell you about job and work experience opportunities so you can have your foot in the door when you finish! read more

Easy going is the word! Set well outside the city bounds, UniSA's Magill campus feels (and looks) like a pretty country university. The Magill campus is about a 30 minute bus ride out of the city, which was a killer for me when I was studying here. The travel was quite a lot to do on a daily basis, and once you are out on campus, there isn't much to do around the general area. The campus is set in the lovely foothills and quite scenic really. That said, there's no real buzz here even at peak times, just plenty of grass, trees, parks and a creek...not much by way of campus culture. Dotted around are the campus buildings, which range from traditional to more modern, including a pretty decent campus library and plenty of space to chill outside with your laptop before tutes. It's all very unassuming, you could hardly imagine a uni protest happening out here! The downside of it is that it doesn't promote an active campus life. That said, I had a great time studying nonetheless, with smaller, more focused tute groups and some really great lecturers and fellow students to make it worthwhile. read more

I am currently a student at UniSA's Magill campus and not to sounds like a nerd, but I love going to uni. Obviously not for the studying, but for the beautiful inviting campus set amongst lots of greenery and even a cute little stream. The campus buildings and rooms are not necessarily the most up-to-date and professional looking places, but they definitely do the trick. The best part of this campus is the serene and laid-back atmosphere, which is quite different to the city university campuses. I always have a picnic rug on hand so I can study on the lawn or simply laze in the sun with friends. There are often bands playing outside and free sausage sizzles and such to attract students. The aroma café is full of delicious, slightly over priced delights, most importantly including alcohol! Grab a beer or bottle of wine after class and a bad day at uni can easily turn into a good one. read more
