Since we recently moved to the Buford Area my brother needed a new barber shop closer to us. I found Unique Cuts on yelp and we gave it a try and I believe he will continue to come here! Matias did a great job cutting my brothers hair, and he was very nice! We definitely recommend him! The shop is amazing! Its so clean, and wide and I love the modern decor. They have many barbers so they wait wasn't as long although I would recommend getting an appointment. Tried calling but they don't answer the phone. Drove their and over an hour Waite got a hair cut. Never offered any other time so we left. Seem poplar with teens . Might try again but did not act like they cared for our business. Had a real whatever type of attitude or feel. Booked a apt with US gentleman barbers they were very nice and helpful. This review is specifically on Alexis. I have been taking my son to Alexis for over a year now. There have been a handful of time we have gone elsewhere in the event that we are unable to make it to Unique Cuts, but whenever we do, I schedule with Alexis. He has always been very nice to my son and I, and he is very detailed when cutting hair. He makes both my boys look amazing. With that being said, a few weeks ago, on March 31st I scheduled an apt for one of my sons, I needed his hair cut that day, and Alexis had no more available appointments, so I scheduled with someone else. When I arrived, I checked in at the front desk, and told the woman my sons name "Amiel", she proceeded to confirm my appointment was with Luis, and I said yes, she told us to have a seat, so we did, moments later I saw Alexis approach the front desk speaking with the woman in Spanish, then he looked at me, motioning for us to come back. I was a bit confused as I knew I did not schedule an appointment with Alexis, though I had wanted to. Another gentleman who worked there asked me if I had two appointments, and I said no, just one. He then told me that I was scheduled for two, I said I didn't know why their system was showing that, because I only scheduled one. They began to speak to one another and the gentleman asked me if I wanted to just go ahead and have my other son get a haircut too since two appointments had already been scheduled. I said no, because my other son just had a haircut a week prior, and was not in need of one. They said okay, and Alexis took my son in the back to cut his hair. My son came to get me to ask what type of hair cut I wanted, so I walked over to Alexis to tell him what style, and he aggressively told my son to "sit down". Alexis is typically soft spoken, and mild mannered, so I convinced myself that I was just misreading him. While my son was getting his hair cut, the same woman from the front desk who I checked in with came in the back and called out "Amiel?" and I looked at her very confused as I already check my son in and he was already having his hair cut. I walked to the front desk where her and the other gentleman who told me I had scheduled two appointments were, and they asked if I scheduled an appointment under the name "Nathan" or "Nathaniel", I told them "no, my appointment is under the name Amiel" like I previously stated several times. Turns out, Nathan was the person who scheduled two appointments with Alexis, and even though I told them the name in which the appointment was under, they assumed it was under another name, and my son ended up taking one of Nathan's appointment. This was a simple mistake made by the woman at the front desk. And I was not upset about it at all. It was not my fault, nor my sons fault. Alexis cut my sons hair pretty fast at this appointment, and I noticed lots of hair all over my sons face when he finished, which he typically makes sure to blow off. I thought nothing of it, paid for the hair cut and tipped Alexis as usual. On our way home my son proceeded tell me that Alexis was very rough with him during his hair cut and seemed to have an attitude. I am assuming that Alexis thought I had made two appointments, and then only followed through with one, which caused him to lose money, and this is why he was annoyed, taking it out on my son by being rough with him. My son is only 10 and he is very chill. So for him to express that he noticed an attitude and a roughness from Alexis while he got his hair cut was so disappointing. I am giving this review a 3 star instead of something lower because Alexis has a great skill and eye for cutting hair, and consistently does a great job, so I will not take that away from him. But as loyal customers, It was very upsetting for my son to be treated like that because of a simple mistake made by your staff member. I hope this comment serves as constructive criticism. I would much rather you verbally express your concerns and frustration, or even deny my son a haircut if you THINK we cheated you out of money by scheduling two appointments and then only following through with one. My husband and I walk in to this business for the first time and they say to come back at 1 PM.. they then call us 5 minutes before our 1 PM scheduled time and say they can no longer take him and they are booked for the rest of the day. What's funny is when I looked at the website to see what availability they had for the rest of the day, there were plenty of spots to book online. I stopped by Unique Cuts per the recommendation of a friend. I holistically had a good experience, but there were a variety of issues, minor and major, that make me slightly hesitant to return. First slight issue is the fact that I had a lot of trouble communicating with the front desk. The person working the desk did not understand me when I asked "how long of a wait time do you have right now?" This was of course a minor issue, and we managed to understand each other after a while. The store's quoted wait time was accurate, and I was seen in a reasonable amount of time. The stylist asked how I wanted my hair and proceeded to cut. I applaud the amount of time that the stylist took, but his attention to detail was somewhat lacking. My side burns were pretty crooked at the end. This one, at least, was my fault for not noticing immediately. Another issue, not exclusive to this place, but fairly major nonetheless, is the fact that the stylist cut my hair in the manner that he wanted. I communicated that I wear my hair straight, but I still got a hard part. The stylist put product in my hair without asking if I wanted product, or even if I was happy with my bangs. I didn't want to be a rabble rouser, since he'd likely have to wash out the product, but that was really annoying. I mostly liked Unique Cuts, and I certainly respect/support small businesses. Today he was late again and when I asked him how much longer he: had a attitude and at front lots of people with his hungry voice told me I can go with someone else because he is tired I am giving him a hard time! So I'm still new to the area looking for a good beard barber. Unfortunately this wasn't the place for me I guess. Call me old fashioned, but I like to have a conversation with my barber. I was ignored the entire time I was getting my trim. My barber kept randomly wandering off or having conversations with the other employees. He even took a call and was talking on the phone while cutting my beard. He talked to me to ask what I wanted and to collect his payment, and that was it. Unsanitary as well. The apron he put on me was COVERED in hair from the previous day. Then he our gloves on and proceeded to run them all through his hair before getting to work on my beard. As for the trim, I asked for my beard to be cleaned up and for my cheek lines to be left natural. Not only did he line up my cheek lines, but he thinned my entire beard! My wife noticed as soon as I got home that my beard was thinned out. read more

Brian gave me my fade, and I couldn't be more pleased. He is fantastic at what he does. The building itself provides a modern barbershop feel. Waiting area has TVs and comfortable chairs, and you can see the TVs while your hair is being cut. For a guy this is the best barbershop feel you are going to find. Last but not least the owner is tremendous. My girlfriend was given a chair to sit and talk with me while I was getting my hair cut, and we were offered cold drinks right away. I travel a lot. I usually find myself in a hotel room thinking... damn, I should have gotten a haircut before I left home. I have relied on Yelp several times to guide me through the selection process. I have a pretty simple haircut... even more simple as Father Time has caught me and made the hair up top a little less. That said, I like a nice short cut on the side and a little more on top. I also like to have a good beard trim... that is the highlight. I was not disappointed. I booked online with Willy based on reviews here. I shopped up early and was greeted by the owner (I assume) and given a bottle of water. The target clientele is probably younger and hipper than me, but I was impressed with the service and the cleanliness. Willy took me back about 15 minutes early. I have no idea how many clippers Willy used... but he gave me a great buzz... fade... on the back and sides. He paid attention to the top and did a great job with the cut. The beard trim was phenomenal... clippers, straight razor, hot towel, after shave, etc. Probably the best I have ever had. Willy spent a lot of time trimming and making sure I looked as good as I could. He took more time that I expected (or quite frankly paid for with the 30 minute appointment). I have no complaints whatsoever... and when I come back to the area, I will make sure to get a cut regardless if I need one or not. After having my son receive bowl cuts and long bangs, I found this gem! I made an appointment online on a Saturday, got an appointment no problem same day. His cut with Micheal was so easy! Very clean place. Nice people. I come from Staten Island NY and in my opinion I will find NO one that cuts hair like Home. However. They do have some barbers from NY. Gary is from Queens. I use him for my and my sons cuts. They are pricey. NY haircuts are even cheaper which I was shocked at. Home is 15 for adults. 12 for kids. Here is 20 for adults and 15 for kids. If it isn't a full haircut. They work The price down a bit. The website is fantastic. Never saw anything like that for scheduling appointments. LOVE IT. I'd recommend this barber shop.
