For those that want to know why I'm saying this...read on. I hired Shannon to take my maternity photos for my second little one. I wanted something outdoors this time and thought the coast would be perfect. I contacted Shannon and from the very first email, she was so friendly, professional, upbeat and personable. I emailed her no short of 20 times to ask opinions on outfits, locations, dates/times and she responded promptly and with enthusiasm every time! She made sure I felt important which was nice. Flash forward to the day of my shoot, I decided to opt for hair and makeup by the person she recommends, Sarah Bradshaw. I am very hesitant about getting my makeup done because I am picky and don't want to be disappointed. I sent a photo over of the look I wanted and Sarah nailed it. She did such an amazing job!! She made me feel beautiful and is extremely talented. She is also super sweet and down to Earth, which made the entire experience fun. Shannon was also there for the entire "getting ready" portion to chit chat and get to know me which was awesome. Shannon definitely scouts out the best places for the photos and spent way over the average amount of time shooting my photos to ensure we captured the best light for each location. She would climb all over the woods, rocks, beach - just to get the best shot. She makes you feel extremely comfortable the entire time which helps bring out the best photos. If anyone is still reading this long review, I haven't even gotten to the actual photos. They are simply the most amazing photos I've ever seen! She captured the beauty of the coast and the exact look and feel that I wanted for this memory. My Mom, who came along, also had the best time. I would highly recommend Rustic Bloom Photography for any of your future photography needs!

As…read moremore of our friends get married, I am reminded how lucky we were to find a photographer like Katie! She listened to what we wanted, used our ideas and requests, and gave us several hundred fabulous photographs. We thought it would be cool to take pictures on these red picnic tables at McMenamin's Grand Lodge. She agreed and those are some of our favorite photos. Many of the other photos we received were of things we missed from being the center of attention, so they are extremely fun to look at and see what our guests and wedding party were doing while we were occupied. My husband and I are still in awe of the quality and how the photos made us look and feel. I never felt more beautiful than looking at those photos from our wedding. Both her and Greg were extremely professional and sweet. Just having two people with calm and gentle attitudes made me more calm and I can easily say that they made me more sane on my wedding day. When my father-in-law unexpectedly died just four weeks after our wedding, I requested if I could get the photos with him in it early and she had them to us within an hour. Still providing 110% even after the wedding was over! I highly recommend Katie Anderson for wedding photography. She is one of the few things about our wedding that I would choose over and over again!

Simply amazing. Mellissa is extraordinary. I met her at a…read morebridal show (I was SO out of my element here...) and she made me feel immediately at ease. I knew that she would be perfect to capture our wedding day. I'm not usually the type of person to note another's 'aura' or 'vibe', but this is different - I swear! Mellissa has this calm professionalism about her that just takes the energy down to a calm level and allows you to just 'be' in the moment. I was so nervous about the photography part of our wedding. Neither my new husband or I consider ourselves photogenic and just feel really uncomfortable in front of the camera. Mellissa's style was perfect for us. She patiently guided us to poses and used some really neat tricks to evoke true emotion from us both. The best part - once we were in place she just stepped back and did her thing. We both felt like we had all of these moments of private togetherness on our big day. It was the best gift she could have given us! I am beyond thrilled with the final product also. Turn-around time was really quick (much faster than she quoted). The photos were nicely edited down to a reasonable number of photos (around 400-ish, I think) that perfectly told the story of our day - capturing it all without having to click through thousands of photos to find 'the good ones' - they are ALL good ones!! Between the experience and the outcome, I cannot recommend Mellissa highly enough! I will absolutely reach out to her first when the time comes to capture more of our life story (babies, anniversary shoot, I'll find a reason!)!

She was actually the second person I contacted to let know that I was engaged and to ask to use her services. So to begin with my experience with Mellissa. She responds QUICK!! She makes you feel like you are number one and very important. When you become engaged and start really planning your wedding, there is NOTHING better than a quick response, someone who is patient, kind, creative, unique and thorough doesn't even begin to cover it, she is so thorough. It is so refreshing! Mellissa is all of this. She is extremely helpful with everything. Even things you have no clue that you need to know about. Location idea's/suggestions, themed photography, outfits, hair/makeup if needed and so much more. She has got you covered! I wonder when this lady sleeps cause she is really "at your service" Working with Mellissa and her talent has been such an amazing experience and I feel so blessed that my precious memories have been captured by her. There are many photographers out there but when you find one that when you view their work and it fills you with emotion and then you actually get to use them, there are just no words. Our engagement photos are finished and I know my wedding day (photos) that is soon approaching will be safe in her hands and beautifully done.
