Japanese clothing brand made in China?? But what isn't made in China, right!?! I'm all about style, quality, fit and value.. this is why I LOVE UNIQLO!
When I first moved to Sydney, there was only a tiny pop-up shop with limited styles but now there's a behemoth store which I frequent more than I should especially after I eat at RICE WORKSHOP.
If you're not familiar with the brand, please visit the store and try on a few items. You'll be surprised at how well-constructed the clothes are for the price you pay. It's definitely not for everyone, but it's a nice option from the limited brands that are available in Sydney.
I'm giving this particular store 3-stars mainly because of the lack of knowledge their employees seem to have with product and pricing. I was at Uniqlo - Westfield Parramatta one day when I found two sale shirts I liked for $19.90 each. I purchased both of them and decided to check out Uniqlo - Pitt Street the next day. I found the exact same shirts I just purchased yesterday but for $29.90 and $49.90. What!?! It should be the same price at all locations, right??? I asked the two fitting room attendants about the price discrepancy between their location and Parramatta - they were both dumbfounded by the question but tried to come with answer that would make sense.
Me: "I bought these same shirts at the Parramatta store for only $19.90 each. How come it's more expensive here?"
Fitting Room Guy 1: (pauses and thinks) "Oh they have different prices than us on you know, some items"
Me: "But shouldn't it be the same with every store since you guys are a chain??"
Fitting Room Guy 2: "It's just they have prices that are different from us. It's like a different store"
Me: (thinking FRG2 repeated what FRG1 just said.. let's not press the issue) "That makes no sense, but thanks"
