I found a listing for one of their units on Facebook Market Place. The tenant wanted to sublease so…read morehe could accept a job out of state without receiving their steep lease termination fines. The office suggested he post on Facebook and worked with all parties to make sure there was a smooth transition. They worked to get us approved which took several weeks. We signed the new lease and I asked all my questions about what comes next with the tenant moving away, the gate, auto pay, email updates, etc. They told us how to remove the subleasing tenant when the lease was up so we can renew in his stead since he was moving to Florida. Even told him to keep a hold of his keys just in case. Since moving in we have had ants and ticks in our apartment, landscape neglected in front of our unit and grass up to mid-calf at times, garbage completely overloaded, the dog park cut down to half it's size, and dog bad dispensers constantly out. The floater garage unit that shares our bedroom wall has someone "working out of it as their personal office" making all sorts of noise. The pool was closed down during the summer. Power out for nearly a full day. Mind boggling rent increase and high utility bills in addition to the pricey rent. With limited housing options for a family with a large dog, we begrudgingly decided to renew our lease. Suddenly we have to re-qualify making 3 times the NEW raised rent. We could not prove we could make that amount so we did not re-qualify. Then they emailed us that since we didn't give 60 days notice, we now owe them a fine, the last months rent and an additional month's rent to make up 60 days notice from rejection of renewal. We explained that we didn't re-qualify and it wasn't that we didn't want to renew. We explained about the subleasing which they say they never did and is in fact against company policy. They proceeded to tell us that until now, they didn't know that the other tenant wasn't living in the unit with us. Keep in mind, this is a one bedroom apartment and they thought was all lived together in it. They sent emails that were rude, condescending, and acted like they were doing us a favor. We ended up paying $2,193.90 just to leave at the date specified on our lease. Then two days after moving out we get an email that they can't find the keys we left on the island of the kitchen per their instruction. After getting all three parties upset and reaching out to a phone they never seem to answer, they emailed back that they looked in the wrong apartment. All of our neighbors and other tenants we met at the dog park were also moving because of the management of the site and ridiculous rent increases or policy changes that always benefit the company, leaving the tenants screwed. Save yourself and keep looking.

Living in a fancy ghetto!…read more There is so much wrong with 1900 at Canterfield. Let's start with the community and it's amenities. Gym: doesn't ever have any sanitizing wipes to wipe down machines!!! No hand sanitizer. Always dead bugs around. Pool: Dirty and gross, leaves and dirt always at the bottom. Has closed 3 times now due to chemical imbalance. Also, don't have any fun! Or else neighbors will complain and you'll get emails about how bad our pool behavior is. No music, no drinks, don't splash, don't laugh, don't blink. Car Washing station: just a power wash on the wall. Detergent can be dispensed but there is never any and the trash can next to it is always overflowing. Trash valet: has left our trash a few times and animals get to it overnight and we are unaware until the next day. Gate: takes way too long to dial our phones for us to let guests in so there is always a line/rude people honking. Has broken down twice now. Grilling area: small charcoal trays located next to a dog park. The community itself is okay. The new management office never answers phones so don't expect to speak to someone right away. As for the apartment itself, I feel catfished. The first major problem was the huge lump in our floor as soon as you walk through the door. There was most likely an issue that they just covered up with the laminate. The "granite" counter tops... no, it's the outdated counter tops with a laminate over it. Have requested maintenance to fix an issue that they deemed fixed, but is still an on going issue. And don't even get me started on the bugs. It's insane. I'm best friends with all the spiders and centipedes. Overall very unhappy with this place, especially for how much we are paying. The amenities are what really sold me and I 100% regret it. Half the time your unit is not available until you move in, so you are blindly signing a lease. We got to see a model unit, but then you can't see what's wrong with your unit. For what your spending, I would try the newer apartment buildings on Randall.
