In this instance, we were on the hunt for apple cider donuts. We found the donuts (delicious!) and a whole lot more. True to the name, Mt Airy is a working orchard and farm with a very impressive farm store operation. On this fall day, there was a dizzying selection of produce, baked goods, frozen prepared foods (pies and more), gourds, pumpkins, apples, and much more. There are apparently pick your own opportunities as well. Parking is plentiful and Mt Airy is well-staffed with a very friendly team of folks. The farm store is immaculate. Note that Mt Airy is in a very rural area off winding, narrow roads. Pay attention to your GPS and drive carefully. Highly recommend this York County gem.

( They sell to others for $1 each a bag or $5 a container). My two kids got on the cart rides for about 2-3 min each. Overall it is a fun place. The horse barn and the alpacas are all very gentle. The barn is open to public. Horse ride/cart is $7 each ( kids only). Next time we won't do the workshop. We can come for free but buy the food from them instead. Next door is Old windmill farm which is run by other family members. They have animal tours too. Good idea to hit two farms in the same day. It is a 5 min walk or you can drive down the path to park there.

It is only $5 per person and you get a snack bag of food for the alpacas. The owner gave a very true history of her family and the farm; It was very heartwarming. We took lots of beautiful photos!! They also have a barn shop with yarns to purchase and yarn goods made by local artisans. I purchased 3 large dryer balls that I'm so thrilled with. The salesperson advices me to put essential oil of my liking for my load. I love that!!! They also had human snacks, sandwiches, baked goods, hot cocoa, apple cider. Very kid friendly! Martha helped me and couldnt have been nicer. The dahlias weren't out yet but she walked with me in the farm and she picked them for me. What gorgeous specimens if all colors and sizes.
