I was on a mission for mint because apparently I need every variation that exists and they had several kinds in stock. The one I was looking for specifically wasn't in yet, but they were super helpful and said it should be coming in later. Even this early in the season, the selection was solid: flowers, herbs, succulents, pre-made planters, and even little terrarium setups. And if you've been here before, you already know... it only gets better as the season ramps up. Peak planting season here is next level. One of my favorite parts is walking in and seeing their little water garden setup it's such a calming, "okay I'm about to spend money" moment. The whole place just feels like a reset. Prices are about average not cheap, but you're also not getting junk. Everything looks healthy, well cared for, and worth it. Overall: 5/5. If you garden, even a little, this place will get you.

I've been coming to this nursery location for years under the previous ownership. This is my first…read morevisit since it became Frey's. I like the improvements they've made to the building. They really take it from utilitarian to upscale. With that being said the prices have also increased. The inside is beautifully arranged and is a real treat to look at and source inspiration. The first room houses many varieties and sizes of houseplants and unique ways and products to grew them. The two greenhouses are more for flats, seasonal plants, and bushes. They also sell plant arrangements ready made if you're not confident enough to arrange yourself. Additionally they have a good variety of outdoor plants and bushes, supplies, pots and tools. Pricing is more than going to your local garden center but you're paying for aesthetics, although all of their plants did look healthy. Since they were closing and I didn't purchase anything so I can't vouch for customer service. I'd return for the inspiration and if I needed an unusual plant, but will probably stick to my regular garden shop for better priced basics.

All trees over 4 feet were already pre-cut (even though they advertise cut-your-own), and all you could cut were 3 foot trees or trees well over 12 feet tall. It would be nice if they advertised on their site about what they actually had left--we drove over 30 minutes for this painful experience. Bad season or not, you should be transparent about it so that family after family isnt leaving disappointed with their kids. To make it even more frustrating, we called even before heading over there inquiring about their 5-7 foot tree availability and were not informed that there was nothing left. Never again!!!

You can either bring your own basket or buy some containers there. They grow strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and more, it's impressive what they grow. I thought it was solely a berry farm but they've got everything! I picked my berries and they're plump, ripe and delicious! The only downside for me was darn mother nature not having everything ripe at the same time. It was painful walking by the blueberries knowing it was not yet season for them. It goes without saying that this is a good place to bring the kids, Its a nice outdoor activity on a summer day. Maybe picking their own green beans will make them want to eat some. This is a cash only location so make sure you bring it with you because there is no ATM on sight. The prices were very good. All in all, I would definitely return for another type of picking, and I'd recommend it to others. Just make sure you check the website for the availability of the fruit or veggies you want that day.

In this instance, we were on the hunt for apple cider donuts. We found the donuts (delicious!) and a whole lot more. True to the name, Mt Airy is a working orchard and farm with a very impressive farm store operation. On this fall day, there was a dizzying selection of produce, baked goods, frozen prepared foods (pies and more), gourds, pumpkins, apples, and much more. There are apparently pick your own opportunities as well. Parking is plentiful and Mt Airy is well-staffed with a very friendly team of folks. The farm store is immaculate. Note that Mt Airy is in a very rural area off winding, narrow roads. Pay attention to your GPS and drive carefully. Highly recommend this York County gem.

The barn is open to public. Horse ride/cart is $7 each ( kids only). Next time we won't do the workshop. We can come for free but buy the food from them instead. Next door is Old windmill farm which is run by other family members. They have animal tours too. Good idea to hit two farms in the same day. It is a 5 min walk or you can drive down the path to park there.

It is only $5 per person and you get a snack bag of food for the alpacas. The owner gave a very true history of her family and the farm; It was very heartwarming. We took lots of beautiful photos!! They also have a barn shop with yarns to purchase and yarn goods made by local artisans. I purchased 3 large dryer balls that I'm so thrilled with. The salesperson advices me to put essential oil of my liking for my load. I love that!!! They also had human snacks, sandwiches, baked goods, hot cocoa, apple cider. Very kid friendly! Martha helped me and couldnt have been nicer. The dahlias weren't out yet but she walked with me in the farm and she picked them for me. What gorgeous specimens if all colors and sizes. Some are as large as a dinner plate ! Beautiful farm and cute cows too! Definitely stop by if you are looking for some pretty flowers, especially dahlias! And the pricing is very reasonable too.
