Bought two planters for the front - they're well planted and super pretty for 40 each - can't be beat

Always great. Got our Christmas tree here this past year. Great prices and really nice people. Can't wait to get some flowers this spring.

Came across a sign advertising 50% off all plants on State Rd a few weeks back. As a plant momma…read moreI'm always on the lookout for different varieties to add to my collection. Leabrook Farms is a place I could see from 283 but never really knew how to get there to access it. It's a few miles off State Rd., on Leabrook Rd, and you can't miss it. A storm was brewing that day when I arrived so I didn't spend as much time as I would have liked. Every plant was 50% off, even ones already on sale were not excluded from the sale. They had annuals, perennials, succulents, houseplants, and arrangements. I was in awe. Tables and tables of plants in good condition, small and large + a few greenhouses. I filled a wagon and had I had a larger vehicle would have gotten more. Some of my favorite scores were the succulents, a decent size, all $1 and some change after the discount. I also scored a massive mostera plant for less than $10 that at Lowes for that size sells for $64. In hindsight I wish I would have bought them all for resale and made a few bucks. While many of the plants were labeled, there were many more that were not. Since I'm looking more for low light houseplants, a label identifying the plant and care instructions would have been helpful for many of the items I bought. The plain (Mennonite) employee there said they came from an auction and she didn't have any information. Also some of the prearranged plants in ceramic containers had chips, and or appeared to be used, like they picked them up at a thrift store. Not that I'm opposed to that, but some weren't in the best of shape. I made it out right before the storm, barely, with a car full of plants in tow. I would visit them again even at full price, but most definitely at their 50% sale. Since they are plain owned and operated no Sunday hours.

The kitty there is to die for, the absolute sweetest and good prices I will be returning:)read more

This is a mail order review!…read more Do you want home grown produce but you have a small yard or don't want the hassle of dealing with tilling and soil composition. Or maybe you live in a condo/apartment or rent and you can't just dig up the yard. Well if you said yes to any of these you definitely want to get some Earthboxes! I first purchased my boxes over 7 years ago. I rent a home with a large yard and although my landlord does not mind my digging things up or adding things to the home or yard I didn't want to deal with it all. Plus I figured the dogs would get into it. I was already using regular pots for cherry tomatoes and peppers but nothing big could be grown. So I was totally excited when I first got my Earthboxes and saw how much more I was able to plant and harvest. This is the easiest way to start your own garden whether its produce, herbs or flowers. There is minimal assembly involved. One Earthbox comes with fertilizer, dolomite, and the accessories for your box. All you need to get from your local garden shop is soil and seed/seedling of your choice. Once you have it set up all you need to do is give it water and allow for it to get a lot of sun! It's as simple as that. When the season ends all you do is remove a small part of soil where the fertilizer was and replace that and seed it with something new. The boxes are made with really sturdy and strong material. Even after 7 years I have not seen a crack or any type of fading. In the beginning I planted and things like Corn, Watermelons, Cabbage but I have since stuck with Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Okra, Eggplants and Green beans. I have also planted lettuce and broccoli during the winter months. I luv watching the seeds pop up from the dirt and grow into its full glory of yummy produce! I recently purchased a staking kit for my tomato and cucumber boxes. In the past I was using a trellis that I purchased at the local store. It worked fine but I wanted something that was more stable and connected to the boxes. Also for my tomato and cucumbers I decided to use coconut fiber instead of soil this year and grown organic. Coconut coir is a different medium and supposedly allows for easy rooting. I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out. This is what the box looks like with the staking system ~ http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/FTZvVs43_zN59XVII8508Q?userid=3H2VbXZ8upvCFncbi5xTcg#K0YyHEFCj0dXyTsYz_Yjig Green beans ~ http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/FTZvVs43_zN59XVII8508Q?userid=3H2VbXZ8upvCFncbi5xTcg#JPwIXU6QqwIR67oJBzaEuA They were seeds just planted a week ago and already up and ready to grow! The nursery I purchased it from won't let me return it since it's "used," and earth box won't pay for shipping costs to return it directly to them. The Earthbox is huge and would cost a fortune to ship, and would be a pain to package. But when I've voiced these concerns, not to mention the cost if the plants I lost, they completely ignored me- twice-and just kept telling me to ship it back.
