Whatever their qualifications are to be seen, i'm not sure what else I needed. Hopefully getting seen by someone capable of helping you in the future isn't as difficult as getting into an Ivy League school. As for the quality of their service I can't say, but they could work on communication for sure.

I was told by another highly respected spinal surgeon that I could become paralyzed in both arms and not be able to feed myself soon because of the severe narrowing of my cervical spinal canal and I would need to undergo a posterior approach 4 level cervical fusion surgery which is extremely painful and difficult on the patient. He also stated that only a two level fusion could be done from an anterior approach. It took a couple of months to get a second opinion appointment with Dr. Oskouian but very well worth the wait. He did some additional tests and told me he could do a 3 level fusion from an anterior approach and this should help my current symptoms and prevent further deterioration. I decided to have Rod do the surgery and have been extremely happy with the results. I am 4 1/2 months out from surgery and doing amazingly well. A friend saw him a couple of years ago with a much less acute issue & he told her there was a chance it could resolve on it own without surgery and if she eventually did require surgery, she didn't need his skill level. She was very impressed. I am an example of someone who had a major spinal problem and he is the expert I needed!

Working with Dr. Cobbs during a really scary medical event made the process so much more bearable!…read moreHe is kind, listens well, explains things simply, and made time to answer myself and my family's questions. Not only did he do a great job on my craniotomy (no small feat!), he made me feel human and was so compassionate. I cannot recommend him and his team enough! After surgery he explained well what happened and his office answered my questions quickly via MyChart. No one else I'd trust with my actual brain! And the research work he does is incredibly inspiring, going above simply working with patients to advance care for others. Thank you Dr. Cobbs and team!

Dr Cobbs is supposed to be a brain tumor expert. His first question was "So why are you here to see…read moreme today?" He didn't pick up on my sarcasm, when I chuckled, told him it was a worry when a specialist doesn't know why a patient is there to see them, then I said, "Well, we could start with the brain tumor." He told me that my chronic headaches, which sometimes feel like my eye is being pushed out, was unrelated to my tumor, that my vision changes were unrelated to my tumor, the frontal lobe where my brain tumor is has nothing to do with higher level math or communication. He told me that he could be 100% certain it was a benign meningioma from imaging. He said he could be certain the other tumors were unrelated: three breast tumors with discordant pathology/radiology, a contrast enhanced extradural spinal mass, and Drs trying to determine if I have a single adrenal tumor or bilateral, and others. He didn't ask me about any other symptoms - such as the toe twitching that recently started. My husband started worrying when he started to repeatedly beat me at Carcassonne, which used to be 1/6 games. My son thought the tumor explained some of my personality changes. The worst, Dr Cobbs claimed that 10% of all women have this type of brain tumor! My husband joined us (via FB messenger). Afterwards, he said, "Did he just say that 10% of all women have meningioma brain tumors? I'll have to look that up." Both my husband and I have done scientific research. I even wrote to Dr Cobbs to make sure we got his message right (attached). In the communication, he then said that higher level math was in the area of concern. I'm an applied mathematician. Women beware!!!!

I was finally recommended to go to Dr. Davis and the very first visit, she spent close to 2 hours with me checking out things that no other doctor has checked. She has put me on a medication called Carbidopa/Levodopa which has helped. She let me know that I have 100% Dystonia which no other doctor could figure out. She is also recommending for me to see one of the best Neuro-Surgeons Dr. Ko at UW for a consultation to see if I qualify for DBS (deep brain stimulation) therapy. Dr. Davis has helped me more than any other doctor and now I have hope again that my balance can be restored and not have the constant worry about falling. She is the best!

When the meds were discontinued the numbness and excruciating nerve pain continued, I researched neurologists and found Dr Yang. He examined me thoroughly and found that I have a rare auto-immune disorder whic hattacks the nerves is mostly treated with steroids. Because he also has a degree in psychiatry he understood that I'm susceptible to mania from the steroids and recommended infusions instead. I use the Polyclinic's online messaging system whenever I have a question and he gets back to me right away even though it usually takes days to hear from my other practitioners. Special room in my heart for his very special right hand, Miss Katherine. She actually left her office to come visit with me during one of my infusions and I was so moved by how much she cares.... IF it wasn't for Dr Yang's thoroughness and knowledge I would still be suffering from the pain of neuropathy.

Didn't just provide diagnosis, but he also explained the why of his diagnosis, showed me the issue on the MRI and explained why he had eliminated other potential maladies. While many other neurologists were booked out for months, I fortunately was able to get a new patient appointment with Dr. Yang within 10 days. He then ordered an MRI which was taken the next day and he saw me to report on the MRI, provide diagnose and advise on a plan the next day. Everything about it was a very good experience. BTW, I've seen another review complaining because a referral was required to see Dr. Yang. In the Seattle area, I found a referral was required to see any neurologist as a new patient - so I would disregard that review.
