Small but super cute shop just a few blocks from Piazza San Marco filled with beautiful ceramics…read more We came in several times throughout our several month stay in Florence to browse their items before buying several pieces to take back to America. They have many different items--tiles, pitchers, plates, bowls, salt and pepper shakers, etc.--at different sizes and price points, which made it very easy for us to buy several items for ourselves and family. I don't think all of the designs are necessarily unique (in fact, we were able to find a tile that looked close enough to match a bowl and pitcher set that we got at Williams-Sonoma for our wedding over 10 years ago), but the items are hand painted. The quality of the actual ceramics is superior, as well--the ceramics are heavy and sturdy, and can actually be used to serve food or eaten off of. We actually plan on using the tiles as part of our backsplash in our kitchen, and we were assured the tiles can withstand the regular exposure to heat, being splashed by food, and being wiped down.
Shopkeepers were always pleasant and welcomed our whole family into the shop, even though my children could have easily broken several Euros worth of items (luckily, they didn't)! We didn't feel rushed or pressured to buy anything, but the shopkeeper was right there and willing to answer any questions we had. When we did finally purchased *a lot* of items she took great care to wrap our items in bubble wrap so that they could make the journey back home--and they made it just fine!
