Draw your own conclusions! Did he fulfill his duties as an attorney? I entered the penal codes under which I was arrested into AI and found out that these charges are automatically dismissed by the prosecutor due to lack of evidence and absence of a crime. I went to the court myself and requested information about the status of my case -- it was closed. The arrest was on May 15, 2025, and today is October 24, 2025. All this time, my attorney kept telling me that he couldn't do anything until the court hearing. It looks like he was actually interested in the case going to trial and didn't even bother to check the status of my case. Did this attorney do his job? No! Thanks to AI, if it weren't for artificial intelligence, I would still be trembling in fear waiting for a court summons. So think for yourself -- is it worth dealing with such an attorney? He may be interested in something, but as practice has shown, he certainly doesn't care about the fate of his own client. read more

Where do I begin? I was in a very dark place last year when I found Mr. Unger. He was referred to me by another attorney who was mentored by him. First time I called him I already knew that I found the right person for my case. He was very pleasant the moment he picked up the call. He didn't care even when I ramble about my anxiety and depression and all my frustrations about my case. He was always responsive, he never made me feel that I'm bothering him whenever I ask him questions. He is compassionate, and to add to that he is also a shrink so that's a bonus! I remember one time my husband and I went to his office and he took the time to listen to me even when it holds no bearing on my case. He just let me talk and talk and even cry. Lol! Mr Unger is like a dad who will fight for you! Also, I never had to go to court except once! So, thank you so much Mr.Unger!!! read more

Hello, Back in early 2019 I was arrested and charged with 7 counts of 1st-degree (felony) residential burglary. The rather generic (uncaring) public defender was very eager to offer me a paper to sign, stating I would go to prison for 14 years due to the severity of the crime... He, like 99% of all public defenders, was not willing to fight for me and represent me accurately in this case. In fact, the public defender laughed in my face when I started to explain the circumstances of the situation. I got addicted to opioid pain medication when I needed to have my wisdom teeth pulled... and like always... the addiction progressively got worse... to the point where I started mixing numerous prescription medications, blacking out, and even having a couple of accidental overdoses. Xanax became my drug of choice and I was truly powerless over my addiction. All of this eventually led to the crime I committed... I was completely blacked out on Xanax and did not recall anything I did whatsoever. As a matter of fact, I woke up in jail not knowing what happened... the worst feeling of my life. This was my very first offense, I grew up in a great household with a great family, have always worked and paid my taxes, I was a college student with a good head on my shoulders... I was/am pretty much a normal person just like anybody you know. This incident truly was a 1-off. A complete anomaly. Out-of-character to the fullest. Now, I don't say this to absolve myself of responsibility for my actions. Although, to this day, I still don't remember everything that has happened that night (I do remember some of it now)... I truly feel very bad about the people I affected. I always think about how I would feel if my personal belongings were stolen from me and I definitely would not like it one bit. I understood the severity of what I did and knew that I needed to be held responsible for my actions but 14 years was not a reasonable punishment for what I did considering all the circumstances. I was not willing to sign away my life without trying to find someone that would represent me fairly... so I went lawyer hunting. My family spoke to NUMEROUS lawyers trying to find someone that was understanding of the situation and willing to truly fight for a punishment that was more reasonable considering all of the circumstances. After several lawyers, we finally came across Dr. Unger! Dr. Charles/Charlie really got to know my family and me personally to get a sense of the situation before he offered to take on my case... Once he felt that my situation a unique one (and he believed me) he agreed to represent me in court. He immediately got to work going above and beyond to secure all the necessary information, evaluations, hospital records, etc.... and started forming a case. Dr. Unger was truly professional in all of his efforts but the MOST IMPORTANT & INFLUENTIAL ASPECT of Dr. Unger was his vast network of personal relationships that he has with numerous courtrooms. He is very well known and well respected in the courtroom. I truly believe that without Dr. Unger I would still be sitting in prison today. I'm truly very sorry to the people I affected. I'm very happy that everyone got all of their items back and that nobody was hurt. I wish I could take back what I did... Overall, Dr. Unger successfully negotiated the prosecution to drop all of the charges (except 1 charge of felony residential burglary), 365 days in county jail, and 5 years of probation. I'm very blessed to have been represented by Dr. Unger. He truly was able to save my life. I'm now completely sober, married to my beautiful wife, and living a normal life. I'm so lucky to not be sitting behind bars... THANKS, DR. UNGER! read more

In 2014, my husband was accused by a scam artist and was charged with a serious offense. Our first lawyer was both incompetent and lazy, after the pre-trial hearing, we were in very dire straits. With a fortunate twist of fate, we were able to hire Mr. Unger, he efficiently amended what my first lawyer did not do, and the case was soon on track. With his vast connection, he assembled a great team of expert witnesses and private detectives to build a strong case for my husband. During the jury trial, with his impeccable preparation and excellent courtroom skill, Mr. Unger broke down the credibility of the scam artist and strongly proved the innocence of my husband. We had a not-guilty verdict in less than 30 minutes after jury sequestration, and we even received a first-name-only letter from a member of the jury expressing his commiseration of our misfortune to be involved in such a horrific incident. Mr. Unger is not just a consummate professional, he is also a very kind and compassionate man. Throughout the whole ordeal, he was always there for us. He responded to our emails quickly, listened to us, answered all our questions and concerns no matter how trivial they were. I would recommend Mr. Unger in less than a heartbeat, he would be the best lawyer anyone could get. read more

Anyone that is facing a criminal charge should meet with Charlie Unger first. He has compassion that is rare when it comes to lawyers. He is always honest and won't promise things he doesn't think is possible like other lawyers do just to get your money. It is apparent to me that the court personnel and judges know and liked him which I think really helps to get a good result on a difficult case. He will go above and beyond to help you. His knowledge about DUIs and the criminal justice system is vast and he uses his knowledge to achieve results that I don't think many other lawyers could. If you need a good trial lawyer he is it. While there are cheaper lawyers out there, I do think you get what you pay for when you hire Mr. Unger. read more

No words can ever express the gratitude we have for this law firm. We employed Mr. Unger on a case in which we were wrongfully accused. Although Mr. Unger is cool, calm and collect, his law knowledge and expertise during trial was simply spectacular! He won the respect of the jury and was able to clearly show how and why we were not guilty as accused. If you are looking for a professional, knowledgeable and experienced law firm, this is where you need to be. I have FREEDOM thanks to Mr. Unger! read more

Charlie Unger is a lawyer of integrity. He is straightforward, honest, and always out for his client's best interest. He is at your disposal pretty much 24/7, and in those instances when he's not, (because he's in court,) he immediately gets back to you via text or email to let you know he'll get back to you A.S.A.P. My main take away from being his client however, is his followthrough. He will stick with you from start to finish, no matter how long it takes; whether it's weeks, months, or in my case, years. You'd be lucky to have a lawyer like Charlie Unger in your corner. read more
