A little bit of an unusual find, when you walk in there's a table and the coffee bar up front. In the back they have bags and bags of coffee and a section where they roast their coffee, I guess to sell elsewhere or in the shop? Not quite sure. The coffee was excellent though. I had a flat white, and the coffee was really well made, it had a nice scent and rich aroma and it went well with the milk. My coffee experience in New Zealand has been that almost every place has been really good, but this place was a little more special than average to me. read more

Easily missed if heading out of Christchurch. Worth the short walk from the main shopping drag to experience the coffee here. I had a decaf latte which I must say was very good. Creamy and skilful image on the frothy top. Quiet place which would be good to meet a friend for a chat or meeting. read more

Often passed up with commuters zipping down Durham Street, quiet Underground Coffee with its rustic charm is an excellent place to sip on a coffee while perusing the newspaper or browsing Pinterest. There is family style seating at a large wooden table and a few smaller places to gather so it's definitely best for an intimate coffee meet up with a friend or for peace and quiet. The baristas are quick and efficient and your coffee will be ready before you know it. I have not tried any of the food, but the room smelled enticing, so why not give it a go. read more
