It is a great pool and full of teenage memories. My parents used to be regulars on the dance floor. Superb dancers. He retired from the military a few years ago, but they were the bell of the Officers Club when they were there. I had my senior dance here. Ah, I remember it well. In those days we all sponsored an end of the year event of some kind. Mine was a formal dance at the "Club." Everyone I knew was all dressed to the teeth, instead of jeans & t-shirts, bobby-sox and loafers. Over the years the club has been renovated a couple of time and it is even better today then it was then. Stopped by a few months ago to just make sure it was still holding its own. From the perspective of a lazy 17 year old lounging at the pool and eating lunch in the snack bar, it was pretty damn good then . . . . and still is.

Decent portions and taste - better than the fast food restaurants also located on post. It supports the Morale, Welfare, and Recreation fund for the Soldiers stationed on the post. You will be surrounded by Soldiers, former Soldiers working on post as contractors or government employees, or family members. Makes you quickly realize that you are on a military post. Rod and Gun Clubs are found on most (at least larger) Army posts. They sell fishing/hunting licenses, fishing/hunting supplies (rods, reels, lures, ammunition, and some even sell rifle, shotguns, and pistols). Depending upon the posts, rifle/shotgun range(s) are also available.

You're not supposed to have kids unattended, but it's an extra $20 per child to have them sit in a gated room with a few toys and a tv..unattended!! My girls are 10 and 8. There's a playground and basketball court. But even then I felt uneasy letting them play without me watching, mainly because the gate that you need a code for is left open all day long. Hidden gem? Anyone can walk right through without a membership. That's not very assuring in this day and age. The gate is only closed after 5pm. I addressed this concern. No one seemed to care. When to pool and bistro opened, again we were very excited. It looked like a good setup, albeit a bit dirty. We were there late one day without having eaten and decided to eat at the bistro. Their inflated prices for their food that I can make better at home myself were hugely disappointing. Their nachos consist of stale chips and #10 can cheese and a very small serving for $6 I believe it was. We also thought we'd have a drink. Even though there are wine bottles displayed, apparently those wines are not offered. You get 2 choices. Beer options weren't much better. And even though my husband could see a Coors in the cooler, he was told they didn't serve Coors. We addressed all of these concerns with some half-hearted "Oh, you should try one of our sandwiches. They're really good" and "I'm sorry you had that experience." That was about it. After being members for several months, we decided to cancel everyone except one person knowing we would get dinged with a huge fee if we cancelled altogether. At this point, I'm ready to pay that fee just to be done with this place. Lesson learned. Any business that has to make you sign a contract and charge a large fee if you cancel is just trying to shove their crappy product down your throat. Reputable businesses offer satisfaction. Peloton cares not about that detail. They should allow you to leave or cancel if you're not happy there. Be warned folks. It's a worn out, old, unkempt club with severely untapped potential that will just steal your hard earned money!
