After an absolutely horrifying mattress purchasing experience with Macy's, where they made me open a credit card to get financing and free deliver then they ordered and delivered the wrong mattress! I then had to fight to not pay $100 plus 15% restocking fee for their mistake and was not able to get the correct mattress. After all this and now sleeping on a camping mattress trying to figure out what to do Joe at America's mattress saved me (and my now very grumpy husband). I got the nicer version of the same mattress we wanted with better financing and a temporary replacement mattress while we wait for the new one! I couldn't be happier. A year ago I shopped for a bed for my 91 year old mother. Joe Valdez was very patient and helpful. Well unfortunately for us my mother now needs to go to a board and care facility. I don't leave a lot of reviews. I mean, let's be honest, collectively we all tend to have the same experience with places. Good, bad, neutral, it's just another day. However, this may be one of those times where it definitely warrants a review. I'm in the market for a new mattress as the one I've been sleeping on is at least 25 years old. I have lower back pain due to exercising and my current mattress isn't giving me a Restful night's sleep. I'm also starting up an Airbnb and need a mattress for that and didn't know where to begin. Carlos welcomed me and my dad without hesitation, listened intently on our needs, and promptly gave us a tour of the store while at the same time recommending mattresses. Now most salesmen will go for the most expensive ones but not Carlos. He took us to the most affordable ones with the best amenities. He was not pushy, did not try and force a sale, nor did he try and rush us. He was courteous and respectful as well as extremely knowledgeable about the products. I can't say enough positive things about buying a mattress through this business. I did a bit of shopping around before and after going to this store and I'm confident I got a great deal and excellent service. Joe was more than helpful and explained everything I needed to know. He had an answer for everything. I chose a nice firm mattress and an adjustable base for my uncle. The mattress was delivered promptly and professionally & the old mattress set was hauled away. After a few nights my uncle said he loves the new bed and particularly likes the adjustable base as he can elevate his head or his legs if he likes. The remote control is easy for him to use. I liked the selection and service so much at this store, I returned and purchased a second mattress set, which we are also very happy with. Is there a slightly ominous, I-am-in-a-Sopranos-episode energy to this place? Yes, absolutely. The atmosphere and general store environment is not especially welcoming. BUT -- this is a no-frills stop to get what you need. I had tried several other mattress stores in town to get a mattress (didn't need a box spring/frame/etc), and was met with prices that were absurdly high, all for products that weren't even available for weeks. I wanted someone to help me who wasn't there for a crazy commission, I just wanted to be able to drive away with a mattress. I was in and out of this place in less than ten minutes, completely satisfied with my purchase. Go here instead of wandering around a giant store, waiting for someone to acknowledge you! read more

BUYERS BE AWARE: I have made purchases from this store in the past and had no issues until recently. Although the sales person named Joe seemed helpful at first, his true nature came out when I had an issue with my order. This review is more like a "Buyer Beware"... When I called the store about my order, Joe compared my concerns with other customers who had apparently paid $10,000 for a mattress, insinuating that I shouldn't be complaining when others have spent way more than me making me feel like the money I spent at the store didn't matter. I ordered a mattress along with a pillow, sheet and protector cooling bundle. After a few weeks I received the mattress and part of the bundle, a cooling pillow that was horrible and a waterproof mattress cover that did not fit my mattress. About a month goes by and still hadn't received the other items from the bundle. I called to see about returning the two items I had received and was told "no" as their policy was that all items were final sales. (As a previous buyer be sure to read all of the paperwork you sign PRIOR to signing ANYTHING and ask questions!) I requested a refund of the other items I did not receive, since I was not happy with the items I had received. Joe said he would give me a refund of $450 and said he would have to redo my contract since I paid by Synchrony Home credit card. A week or two goes by and I hadn't received a refund so I contacted the owner, Tim Wilkens, by email who disregarded any concerns I had. He insinuated I was a liar and told me I was a complainer. He said the policy of the store was not to allow returns for items that were used because nobody wants to sleep on items already used, and that they have products you can "try out" in the store (does he mean items that hundreds of people have already laid on or touched?) ...hmmm....but yet a consumer can return a mattress after 100 days if not satisfied? Very contradictory in my opinion. But I ended up receiving a lesser refund on only the items that I did not receive. I considered that was going to be all that would be done. So, I am now stuck with a hard pillow that I will never use and a waterproof mattress protector that is too big that will never be used. I am not necessarily giving a good or bad review but more of a lesson learned and to inform other potential customers of Americas Mattress and their policies. read more

The Manager Joe was very helpful in helping my mom choose the perfect bed for her quest room. One not to hard or soft but in between. She received free delivery and a bed frame. Delivery of the went ok. But, my mom was concerned that one of the help who delivered the bed did not have a mask on. He said he forgot in the delivery truck. I'm not big on salespeople, but Joe is the exception. He is honest, and will give you the truth whether you want it or not. I stopped into America's mattress on a whim. I had just stopped by another furniture store looking for something inexpensive, as I had come to the area with my 3 dogs and whatever I could shove in my Prius. I happened to see mattresses at that store, got a price quote, and decided to stop at America's Mattress to see what they had. I have wanted a Beautyrest Black for years... Joe was busy with other customers, and I decided to test drive the Natasha. About 20 minutes later, Joe woke me!!! I told him how I had just came to the area and had been sleeping in an air mattress for a month. He not only got me hooked up with a Natasha King for a smoking deal, he also hooked me up with a Natasha Queen at an even more smoking deal while I waited for my King to arrive! The delivery guys were fabulous, and took my queen mattress to the third floor bedroom of my townhouse. They said the Natasha is the heaviest mattress they move. My husband and I were ready to purchase a new bed. We knew that this was going to be a big purchase so why not make it the best purchase and go all out. When we walked in Joe the store manager was there to greet us with a big smile and a solid handshake. He asked us what we were looking for and he had plenty of options for us to look at and to try. When it was delivery day the guys came by and set it all up the motion base, the mattress and the new bed it was beautiful. There was a couple hiccups with the new bed frame it's self.. when you are ordering the motion base and you are using a beautiful bedframe you have to make some minor adjustments to how it gets put together.. and I want to tell you Joe went above and beyond to make that happen..
