I was very nervous about our girl having a surgery but she's home and doing well and they took excellent care of her. Beverly and the other ladies who do the phones and scheduling and work the front desk are very nice and so was Thomas, who called us when she was ready and walked us through what she'd need for recovery when we picked her up. I feel confident that everyone there truly loves animals and cares for them well and it makes me less nervous to bring my other cat in. They offer the best prices for spaying and neutering in the area, I called several places and none of them were as affordable as Have a Heart and they don't charge extra for the females and include shots as part of the already, low price. If an adoption doesn't work out for any reason, they must be brought back to the Haven. All animals are fixed, microchipped, and up to date on shots before going home. If you are looking for an addition to the family, please adopt a shelter pet. The more adoptions, the more lives can be saved.

My husband and I spent a lot of time going through postings on the Petfinder app, looking for the right dog (we'd waited for a few years for the right time). Colby is the one we decided on! We drove 4 1/2 hours to come see him. He himself waited a long time for a family of his own and I think everything worked out really well all around. Despite spending life since puppyhood at the shelter, Colby was well adapted to being with people and very friendly. They kept him in good health and gave him love for us until we could adopt! Nowadays, Colby is having a great time on his new adventures, and the volunteers from HSMC follow them on Instagram! We have kept in touch and they love to see photos of him in his new home. The point of this review is that we very much appreciate all HSMC did for us and our good boy! They are a wonderful organization from which to adopt. We had an amazing experience here. We came in, were given the space we wanted to walk around and…read moresee the dogs ourselves. When we found a few that we would like to visit with, we were able to take them out to play in either a small gated area or over to the bark park to let them run and play. After meeting with a few dogs and not quite finding the right fit, we explained who we were looking for to a volunteer, Ellen, who was able to introduce us to a few lovely dogs, including the one we took home that day. She was able to tell us his whole story and even let us take him home for a "trial run" just to be sure he fit with our home. When we took him back to officially sign the adoption papers, they did a heart worm test and microchipped him, then explained how to register his rabies vaccination and what vets they recommend. Afterward, every volunteer came out to say goodbye to our sweet dog. He had been there a while and it was clear that everybody truly loved him and would miss him. The animals are loved, the volunteers are knowledgeable, and the adoption process is expedient. I think very highly of the Humane Society for Animals! And if you don't see the dog you want online, come by anyway! Most of their pets aren't there long enough to be put online, and you may miss your chance to meet someone very special.
